We are not born with common sense. Anyone who has met a blonde knows that.

No I don't believe we are born with all the common sense we will ever have. I think we are born with different capabilities and some of us have a lot of common sense while others have less. I do believe that how we learn to use it is very much affected by our upbringing, life experiences, etc. I have observed some people though who were brought up in a very down-to-earth, common-sensical environment that seemed to not have a lick of common sense. So I therefore think we are born with inherent abilities or lack thereof.

Common sense is a natural and not learned. It is actually the learning and education process that covers it over.

Education breeds an elitist ego which causes one to think that the thinking process, science, intellectualism is everything.

I would rather trust an aborigine in the outback in order to survive then a college professor to guide me. The aborigine has not forgotten common sense. The professor would be boring.

I think we are all born with a specific capacity to learn and hold information be it common sense or book knowledge. I also believe it is influenced by environment.

After reading a lot of questions in here... I'm shuddering with horror to think of the answer to this question. I'm sure common sense COULD be developed, or learned, but sadly, I'm not seeing too much evidence of such lately. You?

It's all learned. A basic sense of ethics may be ingrained at birth, but common sense is not.

here is my view. creation and Evolution bypass hand in hand. We have been created yet have now developed. The workings of the international right down to a microscopic point are merely too special to have got here approximately with the aid of some massive explosion from nothingness, a large unsleeping being had to have some section to play yet i do no longer think of stated extensive unsleeping set out regulations for us to maintain on with, nor did they assume us to bow to their each and every commandment, if the extensive unsleeping being did desire this why no longer create us with loose will and the certainty to renowned extra helpful?
