Sorry for your loss. The police should be doing their job and finding dealers not you. Your nephew made the choice to do drugs and no one is at fault but him.Sorry but true. Seeking restitution through revenge continues the cycle. There will always be slime out there helping to destroy society.Speak out and be heard .Every voice can be heard if you say it enough.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. I hope that everyone reading your query will be serious about your intent to gain insight to the legal system surrounding this issue of your nephew's drug dealer/pusher! I can only hope for the best for you and your family. Hopefully the guilty party will be disturbed enough to come forward and confess his part on the matter. I do hope that justice is carried out and your nephew's murderer is found and tried! So sorry again to read about this here!

Convictions are public record. All you have to do is request his records from the court, from the local police or sheriff's office. Unless his records have been legally expunged - they must provide them to you. They will charge you the cost of copying the records. You do not even have to give a reason - it is public record. Now, I say this knowing that this is the law in Florida. Each state may vary slightly, but the basic fact remains. Public record.

Sorry for your loss.
Here in NC a teenager was found guilty of being responsible for another teenager's death by supplying drugs to her, and she subsequently died. He was given time served and sent to a rehab program, but the judge saved his harshest words for the dead girl's mother and the boy's father. The judge found a way to require them to attend classes, even though they hadn't been charged.
The best thing to do is consult an attorney. If you can get a free consultation, you will at least know what your options are (or aren't).

The problem would be to prove that this person made him overdose, he might be charged in connection wit the crime, but keep in mind, that a person can purchase drugs, and its not the sellers problems how the byer uses the drugs. You have to show some kind of "intent" on the sellers part. If I go and buy 1 pound of herion and tale it all in one shot, then the seller is not liabel for my death, yes, liable for selling drugs, but if I deceided to commit suicide (not saying he did or wanted to) or accidentally overdosed, then its my fault. If I go to Walgreen and get my medication and deceide to take all at one time, then Walgreens is not liable, it was my choice. I don't like drug dealers, and if I could I would have them all shot, but I do wish you luck in your venture. God Bless you and your family and many your nephew rest in peice.

I am sorry for your loss. It is doubtful they can convict anyone of selling him those specific drugs, But they can attempt to catch the person for futher sells.
And I do not know who are are refering to covering up around his death, Except that the drug dealers would always cover up thier selling.

i feel for you, however the person that sold or gave your nephew drugs is no going to be convicted for your nephews death. although that person gave him the drug your nephew is the one who decided to use the drugs. the seller will most probably be convicted of a petty drug charge. since your nephew is dead he cant testify can he?

There are people on here that condone the legalization of all drugs. This is the reason why they should never legalize recreational drugs. Talk to your states attorney!
