Thumbs up generally means that I support an answer, thumbs down that I do not, at the same time finding the answer misleading or unnecessarily antagonistic, or even indecent. If I find someone giving an honest opinion not favorable to the Church, yet not misrepresenting the Church in an effort to turn others away from it, I generally do not give the answer a thumbs down, just pass it by. Actually, I often scan all answers but only thumbs up one or two which seem really good, and thumbs down the worst of the bad press. Kind of depends on the mood I am in. But I do try to show appreciation and support for good answers, and a lot of thumbs up should indicate an answer is accurate, while a lot of thumbs down for someone's answer may get the message across that that person truly is not giving a fair and accurate representation of what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is all about.

Warn him nicely, and reasonably, but you can't do anything if he won't listen, so you'll have to let him go. If he gets hurt, at least he'll know you were right!

tell him how you feel then leave it alone. only tell him once and if he won't listen that is on him. the only thing you can do is be there for him when it goes bad. that way you can keep your friendship.
