I weigh 293lbs, have no self-esteem, suffer from depression and panic attacks, don't know how to love myself or I would not have allowed me to get this way. Any suggestions to help are appreciated and please be kind.... I don't need to be bashed. Also, anyone else have remedies to keep that region of the body clean, dry and rash free? I will be flying back to the USA on an 11hr flight and dread the long sitting time because that equals bodyheat. After four years in Germany I am scared, thrilled and excited to return to the US....

Maybe use something from the baby isle? They have products for diaper rash - maybe something like that would work for you?

I do know that B Vitamins are good for making you just feel better and introducing a light non impact exercise, like walking around the block, into your daily routine will also make you feel better.

Have a safe flight back to the States!

The rash sounds like a possible yeast rash. I've a friend who has thyroid problems, which ran in her family. Because of this, she's very heavyset. She told me about the yeast rashes and how to combat them by simply adding just a splash of apple cider vinager in the bath water, or spritzing with it after the bath. Pat dry the area with a soft towl. The vinager helps to kill the yeast build up.

Also, talk to your Dr. about other ways to deal with the rash and to make sure if it's yeast or not. That's really the only way to know for sure, and a Dr. can help you the best.

As for support, there's an excellent website and it's free to join. It's based on the lowcarb diets (and they do work for most people and at a decient speed), ,but the support there is great whether you do the lowcarb or not. And low carb doesn't mean no carb, it means getting your carbs from your veggies and lower glycemic fruit. Basically, a much better balanced diet.

These people are very friendly, supportive, and will gladly answer what questions you may have. I'm there as LisaAC

Obesity is everywhere in america and overseas, its just there. What you need to do is exercise in your home because i can understand why you wouldnt want to go to a gym. The next step is eat less and drink more water. Trust me i dont no how this works but it does. And if you wanna build some self-esteem then get out in your comunity and do something make people love you for who you are not who you have become. Let people(friends and family) know that you are seeking help and trying to cut back a few pounds and tell them that you need there support. And the whole rash thing, well your best bet is to use baby powder under the areas where the swett builds up and just sits there eroding away at your skin. Alos when you get out of the shower or bathtub makesure that you DRY really good before applying the powder. GET HOPE AND YOU WILL RECIEVE SELF-ESTEEM!!!

Gold Bond powder will help the area stay dry and may help the rash. Try packing personal wipes to keep clean. Use them anytime you don't feel fresh or when you visit the rest room. Also, try to stay away from body products that have scenting in them as they may also contain alcohol or other chemicals that will dry the skin and make matters worst.

Wow Germany is a great place but welcome home, take it slow and the weight will come off when you are ready to take it off. Don't worry you will do fine. The first thing I would do is find a support system at church, wieght watchers or if there is a Curves Gym near you stop in they offer alot of help and support.

I have had those kind of rashes before.
The way to get rid of them is a cream.
Go to you doctor and get a suggestion on which cream to use.
Thier are many kinds.
Also get motavated to exersize and eat healthy.
Set a goal weight loss for each week.
Start small like 3 lbs.
Work you way up.
Reward yourself when you reach your goal.
Choose your reward, like a nice dinner with your family or something.
It helps build self-esteem when you lose that weight.
You'll be alot healthier and happier.

Hello, I'm a nurse. There is a OTC cream called hydro cortisone 1% . I would first try this type of cream for your rash. Also don't feel bad, you are not alone. Hang in there things will get better for you. There are so many treatments these days that they didn't have years ago that can help you with weight loss. See your doctor before you start any diet. Take care and welcome back.

Exercise! Exercise! Excercise! At first, I'd be willing to bet that you'll want to work at this in the privacy of your own home. See about buying a treadmill to start walking on. Just walk, walk, walk. When you build up and get used to that start jogging a little. And please, start drinking water if you haven't been in the past... and plenty of it. Try to drink a gallon a day. It will really help. Keep dry towel with you to pat yourself with and keep yourself dry and clean. This may not be feasible but maybe 2 baths a day, as well (just when waking up and again before going to bed). If you start exercising and losing a few pounds your self-esteem will only start to get stronger. Good luck to you and welcome back to the states!!!!!!

First and foremost, you need to start loving yourself, as God loves you. Everyone is unique. Do not allow any negative self-bashing. You are here for a reason. As for the rash, etc., try using Gold Bond Medicated BABY powder or generic diaper rash cream. Either works very well. Be sure it is baby as it has more Zinc.
