Because when u commit u r saying that you will be with this person for EVER!! Some people may not know if they want to make that decision or not and if they commit and break it that is a sin. People should only commit if they really really really know that will be with that person for ever.
and plus thats money cause u gotta buy a ring thats like the ring b4 engagement.

I don't fear commitment, I just detest it. The only things I commit to are the things that can help me. Love isn't one of those things.

when you think about it --- its huge to spend the rest of your life (and that could be 60 to 80 years) with the same person to have all the sadness and joy that would bring --- its scary and exciting and its the responsibility of not causing hurt and caring (emotionally) for that person is awe inspiring

Because these days we are more and more susceptible to temptations. We want to just have fun, not be nailed down to something. Which I think is stupid.
