we were bad
God was mad
Jesus took the punishment
Trust in Jesus and you will be glad

there are BIbles written for that age.. The Beginner's Bible for example..you can read from that.. there are others... you might go to a Christian Book story and look over a few and see if one meets your style.. or go to Amazon.com and enter TOddler Bibles you get 3 pages of results for stories broken down for toddler level... I would rather go to a store and thumb through them though to pick

I think there are lots of good stories you can read them:
try Mary's Frirst Christmas, and Peter's First Easter which both have wonderful illustrations

I also like KIngdom under the sea with the whale which is like the fish but from above.. there are two videos and both pretty theological from a kids point of view and well done

other series I like for very young include Quigley's village Videos and also Hermie the Caterpillar videos and FOcus on the family RIbbit series of VIdeos... and Vegitales are popular as well but better for older kids than 3

"For this is how God loved the world: He gave his unique Son so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but have eternal life.

Tell me a story, Daddy. Quite frankly I doubt the level of understanding of a three year old. However I have seen children this age have more insight into the Bible than their grandparents. I'd say just the facts. fill in the blanks (looks) as needed and let things settle in to the heart and allow the tot to process this new found information. The Holy Spirit will guide and lead into salvation. Have a wonderful New Year and God bless you and yours for having such a wonderful spirit for your children. Amen!

Explaining and expecting a good understanding of the bible from a three year old is difficult. You could try putting it into a kids story and dummy it down slightly so that the moral basis is still there but no extra stuff that just jumbles it up. Good luck.

i HAD NO PROBLEMS EXPLAINING IT TO MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDKIDS I just told them an illustration remember when you went to the dr or the hospital and you ahd to have .......... done how it hurt us to see you in pain so we took you to get the pain fixed well it distresses or hurt Gods feelings to see his children here on earth hurting and in pain so he sent his Son Jesus to fix it so it wouldnt hurt any more and it hurt God to see his son hurting and dying for us but he let it happen because he loved us very much so sometime when you go to a dentist or dr because you hurt it may hurt for a little while then the pain is gone so when Jesus went back to Heaven to be with his Father then both of them stopped hurting and all felt real good Ps 83:18 OKJV Gorbalizer

God loves us so much that he would not hold anything back from us that was good for us. His son Jesus was the best thing he could give us. Jesus showed us what kind of God we have, a loving caring God who can make us feel better even when we're sick.

* For God so loved the world... - God is a God of love and this love motivates his action in the rest of the verse
* ...that he gave... - there was God giving something, his son as a sacrifice
* ...his only begotten Son... - the human Jesus of Nazareth is also the Son of God, and also the Second Person of the Trinity
* ...that whosoever... - that salvation is open to all who will believe
* ...believeth... - being saved is based on belief or faith, rather than based on human works.
* ...in him... - the belief being in Jesus, the Saviour
* ...should not perish... - implies the fate of those who do not believe, that is the doctrine of hell
* ...but have everlasting life. - shows the reward of those who believe, that is the doctrine of heaven

I don't think it is necessary to explain it to a 3 year old. "Of such is the Kingdom of Heaven"
