automaticaly updated to a new version. I hate the new one, want my old one back. Can you, and if so how.

You can, uninstall your media player and get the version you want from the site below. When you get the older one back check the settings for auto update and turn it off.

i understand from you that u updated for the new internet browser IE7, you can go back to the previous one by going to add remove programs in the control panel, and remove Internet explorer 7

mine did that too, if you go into control panel and go to add/remove programs and uninstall it, it will rollback to your previous version
