For preschool, i would say 3-4...basically when they are potty trained. In daycare they change diapers, but not in school.lol
Also, i wanted mine home with me......until i felt they were ready to jump out there and be away for a long period of time. And could conduct themselves as needed.......adapt to that sort of social setting. Most of mine reached that age at around 3-4.I guess you could say...they told me when they were ready.lol They started getting a little more independent and wanted to be with other kids more instead of mommy.So...i knew it was time.

My son went to nursery school two days a week at three and preschool three days a week at four. He was able to interact with other kids and get ready for kindergarten. The best part was he was in a parent's co-op where each child's mother or father was allowed to come in and help the teacher and her aide, so they could see how their kids were doing. It also lowered the cost per month. I'm 8 weeks pregnant now and planning on doing the same with this child.

I think 1 year before kindergarten is a good time. That's when my daughter officially started "preschool" rather than just attending daycare. I think it is good, for parents who are stay-at-home and their kids do not get regular socialization, to send to daycare ~1-2 days a week as well.

My daughter started a month before she turned three. It was good for her because there wernt many kids her age here to play with. So she got out of the house for three hours a day and played with kids her own age.
She was very clingy and needed to learn some independence. And she needed to become un shy and learnto make friends and what not.
She went to pre k for two years. This really hleped with her transition to kindergarten. She wasn't that nervous or shy.
It helpedher learn too. She learned a lot of things. Very early on.

Depends on what age the preschool accepts them. My son started when he was 3.

because children under age 5/6 learn best in the context of the one on one relationship they have with mommy, preschool makes no sense for children. group education is just not the way to help children nurture and blossom their love of learning, not the way to teach them social interaction - again, best learned out in the real world with mommy, rather than in age-segregated, status-creating and status-conscious peer groups, not the way to teach them to read, not the way to develop their unique selves.
I'd say never send your child to school, and at a minimum, don't send them before age 8 or so, when that next level of abstract thinking and a clearer sense of self has emerged.

It depends on the child. I would say most children to be 4, but they also can be 3.
