I smoked once, and I don't think I even inhaled. But I was wondering if there are any consequences to that.

Anything is possible; but I highly doubt it.

It can take years and years of smoking to do serious damage.

I smoked for 5 years and have been smoke free for almost 6 months and I'm fine.

No, probably not. But there are people who have developed lung cancer who have never smoked a day in their lives. I wouldn't stress too much about it. Just do what you can to take care of yourself going forward for the future.

Even life time non smoker can develop cancer - I'm pretty sure that a one time indulgence would not have raised your risk of developing cancer. To stay as healthy as you can stay away from smoking and smoky areas from now on.

You're probably safe. But you can get lung cancer even if you don't smoke. Try not to be around second hand smoke either.

no, but you get to around 60, parts of you will start to wear out. depending on what you abuse the most. and a lot of that is what stock you come from. take a look at your parents or grandparents. the ailments they have, you will probably get too, so work at not doing the things they did to get in the shape their in now. as in if they have a bad liver from drinking...don't drink. if lung cancer is in your family...don't smoke. bad knees, don't run. bad back, strenghten your stomach muscles. get the point
