Good luck!!! Join weight watchers or some other support group. Weighing in helps motivate you. Put a fat picture of you on your fridge and your mirror were you dress. Eat a light breakfast to jump start your day. Keep granola bars or some low calorie snack in your purse, car, desk, any place where you spend a lot of time. I wouldn't set a weight goal unless you have a support team because you will get discouraged if you don't reach it and probably think; Oh, What the heck, I'll just eat. If you like to eat as I do you are always looking for excuses to eat. When you eat out chose a restaurant that also has a low calorie menu. Use a smaller plate, therefore, smaller portions.

Talk to a nutritionist and plan your diet:
Determine how many calories per day you will need.
Be sure to drink enough water each day: very important in a diet.
Control your portions.
Buy or check-out a book which lists # calories, fat, sugar, etc. contained in each food item. (Read food labels. At end of each day for a week or so, list everything you put into your mouth and add up your caloric intake for the day: after that, you won't need to count anymore because you will generally know the caloric values)
Buy fresh, healthy and nutritious foods (not too much).
Divide the meals into 3 or 4 per day.
Before leaving the house in the morning, cut up some vegetables: for instance carrot sticks, celery sticks, zuchini squash sticks, fresh pickle sticks, mushrooms , red & yellow bell peppers slices.

I use little fold top sandwich size baggies and place an assortment of at least 3 vegetables in each baggie, (one for me and one for my husband). Then I take 2 produce bags (the kind you tear off at the produce market & use for bagging veggies) and place a napkin and one baggie of veggie snacks in each.

I place our little lunch bags in my backpack and when 12:00 or 1:00 (lunchtime) rolls around, that is our lunch with a cup of tea or water which we buy.

Make extra packages of vegetables if you plan to eat your mid afternoon snack out also. Sometimes we order toasted whole wheat bread from a restaurant and each will have a slice of toast (plain) between meals.

While you are eating, you can be walking around (exercising). Daily exercise does a lot to kill the appetite and it actually seems to become addictive after awhile.

Whatever you do, it has to fit in with your preferences and your life style and daily obligations. My husband and I are both retired so it is much simpler for us. It would be a little more challenging if I were still working.

Good luck. It's a life changing experience.

I have the same problem I am on this medication that no matter how much you eat your still hungry. I drink tons of water that way I stay full and don't over eat also I chew lots of gum to keep my mouth busy. Also try to fill up on lower calorie foods before you eat ie. eat a large salad with lite dressing before your meal then you will eat less bad food. Also try snacking all day If I eat lower calorie snacks all day I feel bettr and still eat. Try fresh veggies and dip, fruits, popcorn, pretzels, rice cakes, ect. Good luck

If you have a diet that is high in fiber, it will help you feel full. For example, I usually eat a whole grain breakfast bar in the morning. I take fruit with me to snack on during the day. I don't like a lot of fruits but bananas and grapes are good.

Also, try Triscuits. They are good with tuna salad. I keep "Healthy Choice" dinners at work for lunch, too.

Drinking lots of water helps too.

You may do better by eating small meals more frequently, like having a snack mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Start your lunch and dinner with a soup, which will give you more time to feel satisfied. Keep a food journal of what you eat, and note down your feelings while you eat, so you can figure out what triggers you to overeat.

I really recommend weightwatchers, too. It helps a lot.

Find a hobby to keep yourself from getting bored. I'm a nurse and this works for many people. Drinking water to fill you up is also a good way to be full and burn fat at the same time. Water burns fat.

Ask Jesus to help you,
Also go for a walk when you feel like eating and pray you wont have that urge... Don't watch too much tv.. tv has lots of food adds.. but talk and get out of hte house where there's no food... Maybe go to the mall and shop or ask someone to come over and play a game telling them they can't have any food haha...
