I am not looking to steal service. I subscribe to every channel. I have a SA-8300HD in the living room, with a a/b going to the other room allowing me to watch basic channels w/o passing thru the box, or the same channel that is on the box, is there a way I can clone a SA-8300, or SA-4200 to recive all the channels subscribed to with my SA-8300HD? As I said this is not to steal service, I just want a clone of a box I am paying for.

EDIT: Actuallay I wanted to learn for the experience, but it would be more then $5 per month, they charge that just to clone the premium channels to an additional box.it would be more like $10-15/mo or $120-$180 /yr.

Call your cable company and ask them for a second box. Rent should be about $5/month

Thank you for trying to answer my question about Embarq, but these lines were owned by United telephone 50 years ago, then Sprint, now Embarq. Cable modems aren't provided by our cable-Charter cable, We are in a time warp here! Cell phones are only sometimes usable. I will start complaining to the state regulatory agency about it-our area is territorial and AT&T/Bell/SBC can't touch these wires! (My sister is a tech there and has really checked it out) The answer I want to see is best for you-Electronic parts catalogs- I have several that offer "hobby" kits with instuctions for remote controls, temp, timers, and all sorts of do-it-youselfers. Someone who knows how to tune frequencies, or modify parts, or adapt something inside to pick up the same signals as your box. There are even "kits" that can help you narrow down to get a close range clone for your box. I hope that idea works, I know there are parts out there, and thrift stores are great places to look for a boxes to experiment with. Good luck!
