I personally wouldn't date a shy guy. But, some girls may like that. I'm shy myself so I wouldn't want no talking going on.

First and foremost, be honest. You don't want to give the impression that you are the life of the party when you are really laid-back. What you can do is put a spin on it. Don't worry about being quiet at first: pick and activity that you really enjoy and know alot about. That way you can break the ice on familar territory. If you have no such activity the find one. You can bowl, play tennis, jog, play pool, etc...Then you become the instructor and will have plenty to say.

of course! yeah, some girls might prefer an "outgoing" guy, but wouldn't you rather not waste both of your time? Wouldn't you rather meet only girls who are truly interested in a more low-key guy? Believe me, I'd rather be with someone I can do nothing with and be happy than someone who wants to go bar-hopping every night!

I think its a good idea to let the ladies know if your shy so that way they know what to expect. It is good to know things about you just as well as you would want to know things about them.

Just be honest and be yourself think of it this way youd want them to be honest with you and be theirselves as well.
