I am not sure about the mg. but I know that allergy meds help with runny nose, sneezing, watery, itchy eyes, etc. So, yes, allergy meds. definitely help.

If you really want to know what is best and don't have time to go to the Dr office for this question, the pharmacist is a really go person to ask medicine related questions and they are happy to help.

Cold are caused by viruses. Any sickness cause by a viruse cannot be treated. Such as HIV. Your best bet is to drink plenty of fluids and get lots of rest.
