OK, first off. The expiration date of NOV 08 is good as long as the sauce has NOT been opened. Once it has been opened then it last for a few weeks. It may last longer than two weeks but two weeks is safe. After two weeks has passed then I'd check it each time I used it for anything.

Nov '08 -- safe in your cupboard, unopened.
14 days - safe in refrigerator, still taste like something the maker of the sauce is proud to have its name on.
After 14 days (but not a whole lot longer) -- From this point on, exercise more caution. If it's not green and fuzzy yet, it's awwright -- you've had better. From this point on, looks and smell are important -- It will often give a visual clue (green/black fuzzy mold) before it gets sickly bad.
As a practical rule -- toss it out once you see the fuzzies.

The expiration date Nov 2008, is only good unopened. Once you open it refrigerate and try to use within 14 days for best taste and quality! Enjoy!

Unopened it would have remained safe and tasty until the expiration date. Even then it would probably be alright, but the manufacturer has not tested the product's shelf life beyond 2 years, and will not vouch for it after that.
If it has been refrigerated for 14 days already, the taste may start to fade, and any little nasties that got in may have had time to grow to sufficient quantities to make you seriously ill. Better to play it safe and toss it out.

What kind of sauce?
The Nov 08 date (08 being the year) is if it is unopened. It's usually ok to let it go a little longer, if it looks or smells funny throw it away.

Nov 8th of what year ? yes...they are printing that for best used by date for that reason, taste .....as long as there is no mold or anything growing around the lid or inside the jar i'd say it was safe to use...only the sauce may taste different .....taste a little before you waste time heating it and pouring it over your food
GOOD LUCK and HAPPY NEW YEAR :o)

I believe they print that on the bottle for best taste. I wouldn't keep it for months and months once it's been opened, but a month or two won't hurt. As long as you keep it in the fridge, you should be fine. Throw it away if there is any changes in appearance or smell.

The date refers to if it was un-opened.
It is good generally for three days after it is opened if it is refrigerated.
Thats what the dept of agriculture and the dept of health here in detroit say (restaurant/grocery store inspectors)

Refrigerate it. It becomes prone to bacteria after it is opened.
