Percocets are the best or the strongest which has Oxycodone rather than Hydrocodone (Vicodin) Mg for Mg the Percocets are stronger. Ultram is crap that is supposed to be as good as narcotics but it is actually more addictive and does not work. You should just start out with a low does of Vicodin (Hydrocodone) and try to get Norcos which have the least amount of Aceto in them which can cause liver damage.

I've had one percocet in my life after i had my wisdom tooth pulled, that was lli needed as the procedure was not that bad.
I have had plenty of vicodin, It's one of those drugs that works at first but like after the third day of taking it it's almost worthless and if you take to much like five pillsfrmo morning to night it can make you throw up. As i had to do with sever dental pain two months ago.
I never experienced any HIGH effect like some people say that they experience
ABout the people who are saying all the stuff about vicodin. It does not make me tired at all even when i took multiple pills in a day.
Also I would not consider it to be VERY strong, Percocet is supposed to be like 2.5 times stronger.
i mean there's stuff out there like ACID which from what i hear is like 30 times stronger. Like you could be stabbed nad have it take care of the pain, WHere vicodin or percocet would never do that.

Real Answer- Tramadol is not a narcotic, but have narcotic-like properties. It is not an NSAID, but an opioid agonist. Percocet and Vicodin are opiod agonists also, but have a stronger affinity for certain opioid receptors. Therefore, Tramadol is indicated for mild to moderate pain, whereas Vicodin and Percocet rarely mild, moderate, severe pain. Upset stomach is not an allergic response (tired of people coming in the pharmacy and saying that about medications). Upset stomach in not a rare side effect of tramadol. Take it with a small meal or snack to avoid. If this does not help and side effect is intolerable then, get your doctor to change you to something else. I usually avoid tramadol unless there is some reason you can not take NSAIDS for the mild- moderate pain (ex history of GI bleed, ulcers, etc).

I myself suffer from horrible headaches. I have tried all 3. The Ultram made me jittery and didn't let me sleep, the percocet killed most of the pain and made me very talkative and feel better, the vicodin just made me feel happier and mad the pain subside a while...after taking too many doses though it made me ill to my stomach. If i had to chose again, i think i would do the vicodin and only take it when needed, not 3 x's a day like they prescribe. Hope this helps. Oh, and believe it or not, i used this stuff called neurontin that REALLY helped! My headaches are more from my back and spine though, not migraines.

Migraines? Pain meds may help with the pain iteself, but not with anything else that goes along with a migraine, including the possible spasming of blood vessels in your brain. THat's why the meds that are specific for migraines are more than just pain meds.
You need to be seen by a neurologist for a full evaluation and diagnosis. In the meantime, you might try feverfew.
For now, get to a natural food store and buy a bottle of feverfew capsules. Make sure that the feverfew used has been freeze-dried, so that the essential oils are still there.
Feverfew is a member of the chrysanthemum family. It's an attractive plant, easily grown from seed or sets. It's a self-seeding annual, and the seeds can get into the lawn, but it grows at about the same rate as does the grass, so just mowing the lawn as usual keeps it in check.
When you do grow it (and you can also grow it indoors in pots, so you're covered for the winter), and you have the beginning of a migraine, grab a few leaves, rinse them off well, and eat them. You can also eat some leaves daily, and it will work prophylactically. It works for more than 80% of migraine sufferers. When it does work, it takes care of all of the migraine symptoms, in about 20 - 30 minutes.
People who don't get migraines find it far too bitter, and generally spit it out. Migraine sufferers seem not to be bothered by the taste, or they simply don't care about it because it works for them.
You can purchase seeds or sets from Richters, on-line, at www.richters.com
There apparently is an old wives tale that if a house has feverfew planted all around, no one in the house will become ill. Yeah, right, but, as I said, it's an attractive plant, so why not plant a lot.
If feverfew isn't helping you, then you might ask that neurologist about meds called beta blockers. They are a type of hypertension med, but because of the way that they work, that are also useful on a prophylactic basis for migraines. (I'll bet you never thought you'd hear or see the work prophylactic and have it associated with real headaches!)
Even if this works for you, you still need to see that neurologist. Insist on a referral from your gp.

i have chronic migrains as well...along with pain medication you may want to try a preventative medication as well (it didnt work for me but i do know it works for some people) and as for pain medication my doctor gave me something called fioricet (im not sure if thats EXACTLY how its spelled) but what's nice about it is that the narcotic in it is a VERY low amount so youre not risking dependancy or getting so used to it that youre going to have to increase the amount you take as time goes by. but as of now i would say get the vicodin and only take half of it at a time, and if that doesnt work then take the other half. i think a percocet is too much for this situation. good luck with everything and if you have any questions fell free to email me.
and i strongly suggest you do NOT use topomax...every one i have seen use it has changed...the medication has a stong side effect of making you very apathetic and you wont care about anything in your life anymore.

Vicodin makes you sleepy, but it worked for me! Try it out, if it doesn't work try a different one.

Those are really strong drugs. Have you considered preventive migraine medicines like Inderal or Topomax?
