Oh kay...i am training my 8 month old chihuahua and right now i am working on calming him down. because when i first got him he learned to play rough and is very frisky. i cant even touch him without him running away from me. so im working on that right now and he is doing great so far. also i am working on his potty training which is also going pretty well minis the ocasional accident. And i still need to work on a lot more things. Like his tricks and good behavior but i like to start with the basics. like sit, stay, laydown, potty training, and calming him down. see im covering all those sections, but i was wondering if you know, how much longer do you think its going to take to cover everything he needs to know?

I have a yorkie. She's pretty good about being housebroke, but still has an occasional accident. I've been exploring toy breeds on the web and it seems that all toy breeds are difficult to housetrain because of their small bladders. There are some really good web sites that tell how to housetrain. A lot of self-discipline and a crate seem to be the answer. Be consistent--that's where I failed. Here's a good link-- . Hope this helps!

I have an eight month border collie puppy. He will sit stay for 3 minutes, come on command (off leash outside), finish, sit, down, a few tricks, he only has accidents when I leave him alone for a long day. All this has been with about 5-10 minutes of work a day (skipping some days) and several good obedience classes. I work him on leash inside even though my rooms are small during the winter and outside on weekends when the weather is nice enough.

If treat training isn't working for you, must be user error. I have sucessfully used it for hundreds of dogs. Consistency is the main thing in any kind of training.

If you train well, it should be a process and not a destination. If it is fun to work with your dog, and if your dog enjoys the experience, you will find yourself always finding something new and different to teach.

If I were you I would take it to puppy classes. Petsmart has classes and I have heard they do well with the dogs. If you played rough with him to start out to give him a tough guy personality, you will really have to work on that. One thing you do not want to do with a chihuahua is to make them mean. Try the puppy classes. You will probably have to start over frsh with the training. Good luck.

It will take aslong as it takes for him to understand. Not all dogs learn at the same pace. Be patient but be consistent. Don't give up or you'll have a wild dog on your hands. He needs to be loved as well as rewarded for doing what he is asked. good luck

well thise breed ranks 67 out of 79 on the intelligience scale 1 is the best 79 is the worst so the puppy may take a bit longer (2monthes-another year)

It depends on how firm you are and how consistent you are. They learn by being rewarded for the same thing over and over again. If you don't make it clear what you want from him, he will get confused. Just remember, consistency is SO important

It really varies, depending on the dog, and depending on the trainer, and depending on how good their communication is.
