He probably just wants to keep you around. By dating you every once in a while he can see what you are up to and stop you from getting involved with other guys because you will still be emotionally attached to him. He also gets to keep his options open and date and have the peace of mind that he will always be able to get back with you if he can't find anyone better. Basically he wants to have his cake and eat it too. Don't waste your time on him, cause if he really cared about you he would be with you.

Something smells fishy about this all of a sudden apperance and want of hanging out with you. You never will surely know what his intentions are with hanging out with you, unless you ask. He may be desperate for somebody, or he might just want to build the friendship you two had before. If he knows your views on premarital sex, and respects you, I don't think he would force you into sleeping with him. Just view this as an only friends relationship and nothing more.

Maybe he really wants to be friends with you. Since it has been a year, enough time has passed for you to be over the break up. And you can really be friends.
I remained friends with a couple of my ex-boyfriends because I truly enjoyed their company and valued them as friends. We knew that it wouldn't work out as boyfriend/girlfriend, but we could be friends.
Just give it some time and see if he hits on you, or makes you feel uncomfortable in any way. Then you will know he had other motives and he's not worth your time.

I would say it's because he wants you back but doesn't know how to tell you. Otherwise he wouldn't really have a reason to come back, especially not for sex since you already had that conversation. He has probably realized that the girls he's dated since you have not compared to you nor have they been better. I say stick to your views and just be his friend, granted he broke up with you....someone has to be the bigger person.

I had to split with my girlfriend due to personal reasons i wanted to be with her all the time because some one has stoped a forth going relationship doesn't mean that they do not love you anymore or do not want spend time with you. its up to you to what you think he is going to do this could be a doorway back into another relationship

It sounds like he likes you but is getting sex elsewhere perhaps. either way, you don't need to go out with someone "every once in a while" but find someone who will be there for you more often.

i think he misses you and did some comparisons about you and his other GFs and realizes what a mistake he did for breaking up with you. Just stay as you are and do not sleep with him.
