It depends on what type of a relationship you are looking for. If you want a serious relationship that might be unfair to your kids because they have already told you they are not ready for that. Maybe right now you should just focus on meeting new friends and having an activity partner. However, you could always hire a babysitter and tell your kids you are going out with friends if you need the romantic dating aspect. I dated a man who had two kids and he realized he did not want to get married again because it might hurt his children, so you might want to make sure you date people who are not looking for marriage. If you focus on just making friends and keeping this part of your life private from you kids it should be okay for you to make new companions.

You are the parent, you are the one who makes the decisions. You are entitled to a social life that does not include them so long as their needs are being met. Having social time with adults can actually make you a better parent - less burned out, ya know?

Not knowing the circumstances, it is hard to guess why your children do not want you to date. Maybe they are still traumatized by the situation that caused you to be a single parent. Maybe they are afraid you will not have time for them anymore. Maybe they want you to get back with their other parent. All you can do acknowledge their feelings about you dating and then help them understand why you need/want to date someone. As long as you treat children with respect, they will accept your decisions.

Go ahead and date. Its OK to date if you're a single parent, make sure you also spend a lot of time with the kids so they don't feel neglected though.

Who is the parent here you are the kids. YES it is okay to date you are human and need companionship your kids will just have to understand it even if they don't like it. But you have a responsibility to them when your dating, like not bring home every person you meet dating so much that it effects your relationship with your kids. good luck

Your kids wont like anyone you date initially but if they are a good person, then in the end things will be good you should date as much as you want kids will be kids. If the person you date gets along with your kids, plays with them, etc your kids will grow to love them eventually

My parents seperated when I was 14. My mom started dating soon after, sure it hurt me but I wanted my mom to be happy. You need to be happy to be able to take care of your family, by dating and trying to find love you will be a better father.

It's okay to date so long as it doesn't take away from your responsibilities to them, including just spending time with them. Just make sure to pick a sitter you and they are comfortable with.
