I have a friend who is a Jehovah Witness and, from looking around on the net, I know the only day they celebrate is Nissan 14. I would like to do something special for her, as
I send other friends Christmas cards. What would be an appropriate thing to do? Can I make her a card/story? If I made a story book around the day for her, what would I need to include (what four verses? ..in order) and what pictures? Or would it be better to just call her and tell her my thoughts are with her?

Thanks.

The best way to honor a Jehovah's Witness regarding her commemoration of Jesus' Last Supper on Nisan 14 is to accompany her to the bible discussion and passing of the emblems that night.

The entire service typically lasts a mere 45 minutes, and nothing but quiet dignity is expected from the audience, although the meeting does begin and end with song and prayer. Non-Witnesses are welcome to simply stand or sit quietly during this song and prayer.

In regards to that date, the only thing you could do is attend the Memorial with her.

If you just really, really want to get her a card or a gift. A "Thinking of you " something or other would be the best choice. Just let her know you care. Don't worry about an occasion.

Probably, it would be better to call her and talk regarding the good news. (Matthew 24:14; 28:19, 20) Jehovah's Witnesses will extend an invitation for everyone to observe the Memorial of Jesus Christ or the Lord's Evening Meal with them at the Kingdom Hall or other locations. Please check with the local Kingdom Hall for further information.

All others desiring endless life on the earth will have to exercise faith in God and Christ and in Jehovah’s provision of Jesus’ ransom sacrifice. (John 3:36; 14:1) For everlasting life, you too must exercise such faith. Your presence at the annual observance of Christ’s death serves as a reminder of that great sacrifice and should deepen your gratitude for it.

The apostle John emphasized the importance of Jesus’ sacrifice when he said: “I am writing you these things that you may not commit a sin. And yet, if anyone does commit a sin, we have a helper with the Father, Jesus Christ, a righteous one. And he is a propitiatory sacrifice for our sins, yet not for ours only but also for the whole world’s.” (1 John 2:1, 2) But it is also a sacrifice for the sins of the whole world, making everlasting life possible for obedient mankind!

If you attend, you will benefit from listening to a very important Bible discourse. You will be reminded of how much Jehovah God and Jesus Christ have done for us. It will also be spiritually rewarding to assemble with those who have deep regard for God and Christ and for Jesus’ ransom sacrifice. The occasion may well strengthen your desire to be a recipient of God’s undeserved kindness, leading to life everlasting. Let nothing stand in your way. Be on hand for this heartwarming observance that honors and pleases our heavenly Father, Jehovah God.

Many are the blessings of the Memorial season. We can benefit from the Bible reading scheduled for this period. It is also an especially fine time for prayer, for meditation on Jesus’ earthly life and death, and for participation in the Kingdom-preaching work. (Psalm 77:12; Philippians 4:6, 7) The observance itself reminds us of the love shown by God and Christ in connection with Jesus’ ransom sacrifice. (Matthew 20:28; John 3:16.) This provision gives us hope and comfort and should bolster our determination to pursue a Christlike course. (Exodus 34:6; Hebrews 12:3.) The Memorial should also strengthen us to fulfill our dedication as God’s servants and to be loyal followers of his dear Son.
We have the guidance of his Word and the hope of eternal life. God’s greatest gift is Jesus’ sacrifice for the sins of others who exercise faith. (1 John 2:1, 2)

You might not be able to attend the memorial with her, but why not attend it alone in your community. Then you could discuss the event together.
