I prefer paint over wallpaper. Wallpaper tends to be a little too fussy for my taste, and I think it looks outdated a lot faster than paint does. There are so many different painting techniques nowadays that provide a ton of options on how you want your walls to look. Plus, painting is easier and cheaper than wallpapering.

Depends what you are going for, but in general paint is much easier to deal with than wallpaper, unless you are going for a complex design. Wallpaper peels, and is messy to clean up... in many cases it takes special solvents to remove the wallpaper. You also shouldn't wallpaper over wallpaper, so if you want to change the room, you will have to scrape off the old paper. Paint you can just paint over.

it depends on the condition of the walls. if the walls are irregular and you want a clean uniform look, wallpaper is the way to go. paint can require more creativity in terms of color but is easily re-painted. whereas wallpaper is not fun to remove if you feel like a change. that fact alone is what makes me tend to prefer paint treatments.

paint because after a while wallpaper can get torn or starts curling up at the edges.
