I agree, it's not the place of troops to question, just to follow orders.

That's why it's our responsibility to question the policies that put them in harm's way. And when a leader lies to his citizens to justify his actions he should be impeached. Meanwhile we need to support the troops that are doing their job.

Zogby conducted a poll among the troops last February. A startling result:

While 85% said the U.S. mission is mainly “to retaliate for Saddam’s role in the 9-11 attacks,” 77% said they also believe the main or a major reason for the war was “to stop Saddam from protecting al Qaeda in Iraq.”

Also, 72% of American troops serving in Iraq think the U.S. should exit the country within the next year, and more than one in four say the troops should leave immediately

I'm sure it just depends. It depends on their own thoughts. Most just wanted to support their country and defend, but I'm sure some know why they are still there. Others are probably just wanting to come back home. Who wouldn't want to come home after a war? The thing is we can't just leave iraq without establishing order or we'll have the same problem. I'm sure some troops understand that. They are willing to do what others don't want to. Either way you look at it (the left or the right) the troops still over there need support.

I don't see any dishonor in your question. In fact it is quite a legitimate one, because of the word "still".

There is no doubt that our troops are following orders bravely, and do not debate the issues and politics of every mission or movement when orders are given.

That being said, it would be quite disrespectful of Americans back home to assume that our soldiers act solely as robots, and suddenly lose the ability to think for themselves while deployed. Categorizing them as uneducated volunteers, who should have expected to march onward to slaughter, only highlights the cowardice of the sheep who believe some sort of John Wayne effort will bring "victory" home in a grand ticker tape parade.

Letters, email, and phone calls from home are being exchanged as often as possible. I always voice my pride in my Sailors service, but I will not lie, or paint a false picture of my countryman's, and my own, view of progress. It would be shameful to say anything but the truth.

I believe just as Americans on home soil are searching for the justification of every life lost, so are our brothers and sisters and moms and dads and aunts and uncles and sons and daughters in uniform.

Most Americans thought Saddam was behind 9/11 and was building nukes that he was going to use against the US. Under that lie, Bush launched the PNAC plan. The troops got their news from Limbaugh and were not aware of PNAC, issues of oil on the Euro, etc. The invasion of Iraq had created terrorists. That is what the troops face everyday - Bush-spawned terrorists. And now Bush wants huggy time with dems so he won't be investigated.

Let me try and give you a intelligent answer to a retarded question. I see the faces of my brothers in arms every day. I see evil acts by cowards who do nothing but try and destroy anything that isn't exactly twisted to believe what they believe. I see innocent Iraqis who want their children to grow up in a safe and secure country allowed to profess their beliefs without being beaten or killed.

The sooner people realize that terrorism is not just about Iraq, but about global domination, the sooner we can get to the solution of ridding this world of these criminals. I question any person who says he or she is a Soldier and doesn't see that.

easy answer
EVERY ONE OF THEM
The only people who question the orders and dont know are in the US and not wearing uniforms most of the time.
The real soldiers know exactly why they got sent there and what they need to do there.
FOLOW THE COMMANDER IN CHIEF"S ORDERS.
thats it nothing else.
Because he is the boss of the armed forces.
You and I nor his underlings from generals to privates gets to question his orders. By law he is given full and complete control of those trrops. Except for maybe being crazy or proveds a complete moron, which is easy to say if you disagree, but to prove is very hard to do.
