Culs de sac.
Another similar example: in English- the word mother-in-law. You wouldn't say mother-in-laws. You'd say mothers-in-law.

Culs de sac is the plural of cul de sac. Cul de sac literally means hole of bag. To make the English phrase plural, one would say holes of bag. Therefore the cul has an 's' added to it.

Culs de sac.
It's not especially wierd; it means a sealed-off opening (cul = opening) and (sac = looks like a sack). It's most often applied to roads that come to a dead end, but also to (for example) the human appendix.
The 's' to indicate the plural belongs as always to the noun.

I agree with jimquk. It's been borrowed into English for long enough that it's okay to use English grammar to pluralize it: cul de sacs.

Cul de sac literally means bottom of a bag. So I suppose the plural would be bottoms of a bag or culs de sac.

Les culs de sac dear friend.
Sounds funny but this is how French people write it but of course the "S" is silent not like in English so you'll say it just like how you say "cul de sac"

In French it would be Culs de sac, but in spoken English I would say Cul de sacs.
Try dead-end road/s, it's easier, plus it will wind up the people that think they're posher because they live in some such place!

Dead ends (or dead end streets),
Blind alleys.
(Grammatically, it would have to be ”culs-de-sac”, but that’s not the point!
Cul-de-sacs is perfect in English (you write it with hyphens!)
You are right: it is some French word.
Not really weird I’d say, although it actually means:
a r s e, bum, butt of the sack.
You are welcome!
