Its hard to understand the fight in Iraq between Shiite and Sunni's, so I thought a map of Iraq with the areas might help me understand.

Maps appear regularly in the papers here (UK), showing neat divisions between Kurdish, Sunni, and Shia areas. But before the disaster started, there was a lot of mixing, including a lot of mixed marriages, and sectarianism between Sunni and Shia was not really a major problem.

Now, large numbers of people are fleeing from areas where they are in the minority to areas they hope are safer for them, so the sectarian split is becoming more and more real.

This is a tragedy on a huge scale. No-one knows where it will lead to. No-one is in control of the situation. God help them.

Let me tell you something. The iraqis have never been compatible with anyone in history, even themselves.
