Because most younger kids would pick out things that totally do not match or they would pick out things that make them look like little hoodlums or ho's!!!!!!!!

When they make their own money, I won't have a say on the clothes they buy with that money...However.. As long as I am doing their laundry, they aren't going to wear clothes I see as really tacky or slutty. Something will happen to those. I promise they will be unwearable very quickly. Bleach spills happen.
Luckily, my kids don't seem to care as much about the most popular clothes as a lot of kids do. I let them have a say in their clothes, what color, which style, and I always have. But I'm not paying for little gangbanger or hooker outfits. I don't see that ever happening. When they live on their own, or when they are adults, I won't say anything. Until then, I get a say. it's called being a parent.
now if they want to dye their hair or cut it weird, or go goth, (as long as it's not too revealing) or whatever there a whole lot worse things they can do.

Why don't you learn spelling, punctuation, and grammar the come back and annoy us with your silly questions?
For instance, this question should probably read:
"Why do you buy your younger children's clothes but allow teenagers buy their own clothes?"
Well in answer to your question. My 10 month old can not reach the cashier. Also, most parents do let their children pick out their own clothes within certain boundaries once their children are old enough to speak. However, they do not let their children shop alone as it is not safe. Many parent's also take their teens shopping rather than making their teens do it all themselves.
If you have a problem with the way your parents treat you. Or maybe how differently they treat your siblings you should speak to them. Constantly asking why parent's do this or that with younger kids and not older on here, really doesn't seem to be getting you anywhere.

Obvious answer they don't have jobs so how can they buy clothes. But I guess your saying pick out there clothes. I do let my son pick out his clothes to some degree he is given choices do you want this or that not go in it store and pick what ever cuz he can't wear anything ugly or to expensive either especially since I'm buying! I also do this with what he wears everyday I let him pick what he wants to wear. Again within reason I already have the outfit together so he doesn't have to match it but it makes him feel like a big boy since he choose his outfit and shoes for the day. He is 3 years old.

little ones arent as "think for themselves" yet . AT that stage, they will probably fuss over every shirt and pants they want. They dont know yet what they want exactly. They mite just go and buy whatever is pretty and never understand how hard it is to get the money. WHen ur a teen, u develop more of that "how to calculate exactly how much u should spend and save". After all, theyre getting ready to be adults rite?

I think it is wrong to not buy your kids cloths. I think the parents should buy there kids cloths. I mean kids work hard to get there money they shouldnt have to have to worry about having to buy there own cloths. I think it is more the parents job not the kids!!!

Because my children would have NO idea what to buy, They'd have wrong sizes, and would wear clothing for the opposite sex. Young children aren't capable of picking out their own clothes.

you figure that most teens have better judgement than their younger counterparts, so they know, for one, an appropriate style (if you remember "Big Daddy", you know what I am talking about). Then other factors they consider is stuff like money management and good judgement on what to do with their money. Some kids might decide to take that money you gave them for clothes, there is nothing that might stop them from bringing it straight to a toy store or whatever.
