Man has attempted to "define God" for centuries. That is how "religion" came into existance.

God cannot and should not be "defined".

I don't define God. God is defined by himself in the Holy Bible. Omnipotent creator of the universe. I am convinced that such a person exists because the universe had a beginning, which is evidence for cause. And the universe appears to be designed, which is evidence purpose. Cause+purpose=personality. The world practically screams at us that it was created, and we continue to deny it. All because Darwin found different kinds of Finches on an island, and we have subsequently found a few skeletons in the ground. Notice however that all of Darwin's Finches were still, drum roll please.......Finches!!!! And the supposed missing links (I think there are twelve now) have all turned out to be fully human or some other type of primate that we already know about. Evolutionists, listen up, it is a free country so believe what you want but there are ZERO legitimate "missing links" to be found. Ever heard of Stephen Jay Gould? Ya know, the famous evolutionist? Let me quote him from his book The Panda's Thumb: "Paleontologists have paid an exorbitant price for Darwin's argument. We fancy ourselves as the only true students of life's history, yet to preserve our favored account of evolution by natural selection we view our data as so bad that we almost never see the very process we profess to study". I have read many like comments from evolutionary scientists. The bottom line is, either the universe was created or it wasn't, since no body has any real evidence for the latter, I will take the former.

I will start by defining God as a spirit, not a thing (Numbers 23:19). God is the creator of the universe and all things (Genesis 1:1), He is Almighty (Genesis 17:1), He is merciful (Deuteronomy 4:31), He is faithful & does not wrong (Deuteronomy 32:4), He is the only God there is (Exodus 20:3), He is the one who gave the ultimate sacrafice for our sinful natures, so that we will go to heaven (John 3:16-17). Oh, the list could go on and on....
From my own personal life---God is my father, friend, help, comfort, love, joy, rock, protector, savior, and much more. I am convinced that He exists because He speaks to me and I to Him, He helps me and leads me. I can feel His presence with me because He never leaves me, I'm His daughter. He is the best father anyone could have.
The only way you could experience God is for yourself. No one can tell you or do it for you. You can read, hear and do all you can, but until God reveals Himself to you all that other stuff does nothing for you.....all He needs is an open and willing heart.
God bless :)

The definition of God is " I AM " !!! A state of being, Who becomes much-much more. Since He has a head start on us all, ( He's always existed ), we will never "catch up" to Him. I am convinced that such a Being exists because Life has to come from life (first law of bio genesis), and I had scientifically have proved His existence to myself and weighed the evidence against the Evolutionary THEORY ... scientific evidence proved God right and the Evolutionary theory WRONG. In addition, I use to assume that scientists were ALL opposed to the existence of a God Being but I discovered, that there are many credible scientists, who DO believe ! All in all, human being's prejudices prove to be a barrier to ANY truth !!! And; besides, MOST people do NOT understand the theory of Evolution but "parrot" it to justify their ignorance, in their assumption that he or she will come across as "intellectual" ... all essence but no substance in their assumed stance on the issue ! Put it this way ... person to person. with the polar ice-caps melting, extreme weather changes, both, North Korea and Iran going "Nuke", threats of a global flu pandemic, economic down-turns ... IF there is no God, we have ALL had it !!! By the way; Moses asked God to provide him with a definition too ( burning bush incident) ... are you trying to be like Moses ???

God defined by me is simply the entity that is the source of all creation.

What convinces me is the complexity of our surroundings and the fact that anytime I pray for something by asking God, it is given to me.

With the complexity issue, think of it this way. A computer, for example, is a very complex system. Any "big bang" or evolution theory suggests that these complexities occurred randomly and on their own. That's like someone taking a box of computer parts, throwing some solder in there and shaking it around and suddenly a working computer is formed. What are the chances? Almost zero. However, if an intelligent being is present, something like this can be created not so randomly and the possibility is very likely. Same with the earth and the creation of the world. It is highly likely that it was created by an intelligent being.

The term God is used to designate a Supreme Being; however, there are other definitions of God. For example: *Many religious and philosophic systems consider a God to be the creator of the universe. *Some traditions hold that the creator of the universe is also the sustainer of the universe (as in theism), while others argue that their God is no longer involved in the world after creation (as in deism).*The common definition of a God assumes omnipotence, omniscience and benevolence.

God= object or person of worship; someone you look up to, admire, has great wisdom, knows you and all about you and your needs both present and future. One that teaches you as a Father and guides you through life. Tells you pitfalls and how to avoid trouble, but then also knows by your nature where you will fail and get you out of troubles you find yourself in. One that is with you when you do not have any friends or possessions or they are taken away, or just exactly what a Father would or should do with you.
God speaks to me very much like my own thoughts, but I know my own thoughts and I know when he speaks this is not my thoughts because it is often a revelation or important understanding of what the Bible says or means. This was the relationship Jesus had with the Father and then promised to only them that believed it was possible. But I also see God in natures beauty. And in harmony of Nature outside of cities. Cities are mankind and show great order of creation of mankind which also speaks of God and his ability to create order out of chaos. Our modern electrical system providing power to so many people without interruption is just one example, water and sewers also.
And if you consider America with all of the things such as wealth why are we so arrogant to assume our opions matter to God is amazing to me. There are plenty of people willing to have our place with God.

I would define God as life. This sounds cheesy, but everything that is has life, trees, people, crickets, grass, whales, all that is God to me. All that energy is God. That's the only way I could say that he\she\it exists, because I can't throw all my faith into other people's definitions of God.

"To every discerning and illuminated heart it is evident that God, the unknowable Essence, the Divine Being, is immensely exalted beyond every human attribute, such as corporeal existence, ascent and descent, egress and regress. Far be it from His glory that human tongue should adequately recount His praise, or that human heart comprehend His fathomless mystery. He is, and hath ever been, veiled in the ancient eternity of His Essence, and will remain in His Reality everlastingly hidden from the sight of men. "No vision taketh in Him, but He taketh in all vision; He is the Subtile, the All-Perceiving." . . .

The door of the knowledge of the Ancient of Days being thus closed in the face of all beings, the Source of infinite grace, according to His saying, "His grace hath transcended all things; My grace hath encompassed them all," hath caused those luminous Gems of Holiness (Divine messengers or mediators such as Jesus) to appear out of the realm of the spirit, in the noble form of the human temple, and be made manifest unto all men, that they may impart unto the world the mysteries of the unchangeable Being, and tell of the subtleties of His imperishable Essence".

Reading through some of these answers, it is amazing how firmly people believe in this delusion. It is so obvious just by looking at the facts of history that god is imaginary. It is sad, having to rely on belief in an imaginary being to get through life.
