I doubt whether many of us have 'died', & lived to tell the tale but when we go to sleep & drift off into oblivion, we are aware of nothing going on around us until the moment we wake up again. So this must be like being dead in a way ........... any comments or info?????

Death is called the great sleep, dirt nap and other such things. Oblivion would not be a bad thing at all. Hell I'm accustomed to, Heaven might be a little hard to take if the people who say they are going there actually do.

NO sleeping is a way for your brain to process the things that have happened this is done during Rem and Delta sleep the deeper sleep levels thats why when people dont sleep for days they become psychotic because their brains have not had a chance to channel all that information

Excuse me? I am often not only aware that I am dreaming but also of events occurring around me in my non-sleeping state. Just because I'm dreaming doesn't mean the rest of the world goes away or that I shouldn't be aware of it's existence or what is happening in close proximity to me.

I have often thought the same thing.
I like to think of death as a long sleep, make me not so scared of it.
maybe death is a long sleep where we wake up in another form.

During sleeping we r consious & a single noise(vary man to man) makes wake up...but this does not happened during death.

SLEEPING IS LIKE "STAND BY" POSITION WHEREAS DEATH IS LIKE "SHUT DOWN" POSITION,

hate to break this to you, pal, yet all of us die sometime. i think there must be a minimum of one man or woman in this entire huge international who became dreaming of death and actual died in authentic existence... yet how would all of us recognize that? LOL :D
