The female cat is ready to accept a male cat for breeding. A female cat can go into heat while she is still nursing kittens. So every 63 to 65 days you can get a fresh batch of kittens. Maybe you should think about getting her spayed so you're not over run with kittens. Best of luck to you.

A cat when she is in heat, they are basically telling you that they are ready to find a mate. They will run off, the snip and scratch anything that goes by them, and they constantly purr-meow until you go crazy. Cats live for mates, okay this is a female cat's life, Get born, Grow up, Have sex, Make more kittens. And have sex again and again until they can't anymore. Then they die and you don't have two cats, but now you have fifteen cats going through heat. If you don't want them to have kittens, just take them to the vet and have them neutered.

It means that a cat is ready to mate. An outdoor male would start roaming the neighbord looking for a female cat to mate with and fighting with the other Tomcats who are his competition. A female who is in heat would be open to mating with a male cat and is ovulating which most likely means she will become pregnant. Ever hear all those creepy cat loud meows in the night?
Those are cats in heat calling to each other.

Unlike humans, female cats can only conceive when they are in "heat"--their menstrual cycle. When they go into heat, they get a HUGE urge to breed (it's all hormones) and will do almost anything to find at least one intact male to breed, if they are outside they will often breed with more than one male. The males will fight each other for the right to breed and do a lot of damage to each other. And the males may get pretty rough with the female too. If you get your kitties spayed, you won't have to worry about any of this anymore (plus your kitties will have less of a chance of developing estrogen-related diseases later on, like breast cancer). If you don't get your kitties spayed, you'll have two females going into heat; if you keep them inside they'll drive you crazy and could get quite vicious because their hormones make them want to breed. If you let them outside, you'll have to deal with kittens both females will produce.

Well a female cat goes into heat when she reaches the age of sexual maturity usually at about 8-10 months old, and will continue to go into heat several times a month until she is spayed or impregnated. The term "in heat" describes the period of time when a female cat is receptive to mating and begins to show outward signs to attract mates and indicate to them that she is ready to copulate. When a cat is in heat they meow loudly or whine constantly, rub all over anything, roll around on the floor and raise thier hindquarters and flip their tail to expose their vulva to potential mates some female cats even begin to urinate outside of the litterbox and all around the house in an attempt to attract mates with their scent. A cat can stay in heat for 4-7 days if they mate and longer if they do not mate. I suggest you get BOTH of your females spayed because going in and out of heat can be a noisy, messy uncomfortable process for the cats and you.

when a cat or dog is "in heat", that means they are ready for mating. You need to be careful, because if there is a male around, they could get the cat pregnant. And cats cry horribly when they are in heat, they sound like a baby. You will definitely know when they are. You may want to get them spayed.

Hi there..."in heat" or also known as Estrus means a period of varying length where a female cat produces a watery secretion from the genital tract and is sexually receptive to male cats. If mated, she will ovulate and become pregnant. Female cats become sexually mature between the ages of 5-7 months and come into heat if they are not spayed before.
