Why do they try and stop me?? My b/f tells me not to "play with the boys" and my mom says it is unsafe.

I love to street race(and win most races) but my parents hate my hobby. WHY??
I know how to race and can beat the guys. My dad accepts it but my mom tries to discourage it. WHY?
I am 17. Why do they care what my hobbies are??

they are being protective of you. street racing is illegal in a lot of states and if you are racing in one of those states, and you get caught then you could go to jail. it is unsafe because things can go wrong with the car.

If you love it keep it up. You will get better who knows what it can lead to. Believe me your parents will come around. Just do what makes you happy, if you supress what you feel just to make someone else happy you will end up miserable.
Keep kicking butt and taking names later. You have to be happy for yourself no one else.
