You know what? Just ignore that miserable person. There's nothing wrong with having a sense of humour but it sounds like hers has been surgically removed or something.
Not everything has to be taken SO seriously. It's just a New Year's resolution. Nobody's life is hanging in the balance. You did nothing wrong. Don't let that miserable person get you down! You're a kid and there's nothing wrong with being a kid. Nothing wrong with YOU dear!!! She's the one with the problem. In fact, I'd say she was rude and owes you an apology for insulting you without reason.
Have a great 2007 my friend!

You are fine that other person has no sense of humor.
You are probably more mature being that you seem to understand sarcasm.
You joke was a point about resolutions about not doing something that you cannot possibly control.
That you would make such a resolution is the joke that is sarcastic.
With maturity comes more knowledge if you are smart you will understand and tell innuendos, double ontondras
You have to be careful as some innuendo and double ontondra jokes are for adults and you are too young to get many of them only out of having manners. It would not be ladylike so unless you want to be crass then I would continue to giggle to yourself about things you think are funny and keep the comments locked in your diary. That or get sat at the adult table from now on. That is up to you and your parents.

Perhaps your answer was not appropriate for the person you were talking to. Most people slant their conversation/humor to their audience. As you grow your sense of humor will change to suit your experience and maturity. At 14 you are supposed to be a bit immature and that's the fun of being 14. Sounds like the other person was a bit rude or having a bad moment. New Year's resolutions are not usually a real serious conversation. I think it was funny.

That girl just lacks a sense of humour. She may be mature for her age, but she's missing out on a lot of fun! Just aim to be mature in the important things, like being honest and dependable. As for being silly, I hope you can still do that when you're 40 or 100.

i'm 21 yet experience i'm extra mature than my acquaintances the comparable age and a few older aswell, yet there is no way you could speed that technique up, adulthood comes once you forged off the shroud of lack of wisdom relating to the international, adulthood comes with responsibilty, in case you experience you're mature sufficient, circulate out with the aid of your self, acquire no help from everybody until you certainly need it. different than that merely initiate finding at issues harder think of deep replace into mature.

Girls mature faster than guys so she probably wants you to be on her level. The one thing you CAN do, that is if you are doing this, is to stop teasing people...even for kicks or doing crazy jokes that makes you look like the immature fool.
But at 14, still...act your age and have fun! Make the changes to impress yourself...not anyone else.

I think it's actually a good sign that you want to be mature.
First, may I offer an explanation about the situation you've described? It seems to me that the person you were speaking with was trying to have a serious moment, and your joke broke with her expectations. (Personally, I think it's a pretty clever joke.) So when she told you to be more mature, I think she was really saying, "I wish you had perceived the kind of moment I was wanting to have and responded."
And, now that I think about it, that may very well be a definition of mature: being more sensitive to people's needs and desires and responding to them appropriately. Being mature also involves remembering that things aren't always about you and therefore not taking a lot of things personally.

friend, dont let this girl rush your life. everyone matures at their own speed. immature can be good sometimes. trust me, coming from a girl, sometimes mature guys get annoying too. what im saying is dont change your cut-up personality for some girl that doesnt know what shes talking about. be yourself, you'll mature when your mind tells you its time.

It requires maturity, at any age, to just do the right thing!
That is, NEVER sell your integrity, virtue, or lower you code of ethics. Keep to the highest standard of Moral Values and guard all of these with a strong sense of responsibility!
Most so called adults fail miserably at this!
