This all happened at 3:00am when I decided to acknownledge his need for love when he jumped on my pillow and started purring heavily. I woke up out of my sleep and gave him lots of lovin by caressing him gently in my arms. He continued to purr heavily and then dug into my arm with his teeth. I then gently tried to remove his head off my arm and he scratched my hand and gave me 5 inch deep wound which is painful. Needless to say, I am not speaking to him and that has been 2 days. Please help.I am upset. No I do not beat him. I say no only. HELP!

He is neutered and has all his shots. My daughter is a vet tech. She says that he will be alright and isn't upset. But my thought is tell it to my hand and arm. I did get it treated but it is still paining me. Thanks all!

Get to a doctor and fast! Bites and scratches from a cat can be very dangerous. The possible infection could cost you your arm and hand. I've known this to happen to people. Also, take your misbehaving cat to a vet to make sure he doesn't have infections or other problems. Then, find a cat behaviorist. FAST!

Something spooked the cat and he couldnt get away so he "bit" his way out of the situation watch your hand and arm cat bites are notorious for cellulitis I once had to be admitted for Iv antiobiotics for about the same reason he got spooked and I was in the way good luck

Yikes...you should probably get that bite looked at if its broken the skin and for disciplining your cat my only advice is that you can't control a cat you can only hope to contain it, I also advise you do not flick the cat on the nose it will only result in further cat attacks.....

An animal bite can be serious. Go see your doctor. You may not even know that the bit is even infected. It will be infected from the inside out.

i think that he is just really relaxed. he probably just got a little carried away and wanted something to chew on. i don't know about the scratch though. this is what my dad says. he just says to let him do what they want to do, or else they'll scratch or bite back. i'm sorry about the wound. :\

I would kick that one out in no time at all. It doesn't sound like you gave him any cause for the actions he took. Some cats are just like that. Would say he is not worth keeping because he injured you on purpose. Please keep your wounds clean and bandaged and get them looked at. Does he have all his shots and stuff? Best of luck.

I read in a book that cats don't like to little attention and not to much attention. So maybe when you were caressing you were giving him to much attention and he couldn't stand it.

Cats are fierce predators. And are the sweetest things in the known universe. They are like the zodiac sign Gemini. They are total opposites within one being. I think all cats naturally try to express their incredible love for us through their ferocity. The only way they can. I guarantee this creature means you no harm. Her cup runneth over in the form of fury.

Have the wound looked at. Neuter your cat.
