If I believe in Jesus Christ, believe that He is the Risen Lord, and believe that He sacrificed Himself for us so that we might have life everlasting, but I don't believe the story about Adam and Eve or the many stories about God killing people or telling other people to, am I saved?

If, with the brain that God gave to me, and with it the ability to analyse information and think, I conclude that evolution occurred and was God's amazing method of creating the incredibly complex diversity of life on this Earth, am I saved?

I, of course, believe that I am. But I would like to know what others here think.

I ask this question in the Holy Name of Jesus. Please don't tell me about monkeys. I know about them. Just tell me what you think: Am I saved?

All Praise to the Lord!

As I look at the answers, it is amazing to me how many of the people who love Jesus are willing to tell another person who loves Jesus that the Lord has forsaken him and that he will not be saved.

I think you are an intelligent, rational person who is capable of intelligent, independent thought. If there is a God, I would hate to think that he is the judgmental, hateful, wrathful, egotistical, micro-managing being that so many religious zealots portray him to be.

If you believe in Christ then you are saved. If you believe Jesus Christ is God, who came to earth to live among men that he died for sins and rose again on the third day and is now in heaven then you are saved.

Saying that you aren't saved because you don't believe in the creation week is like saying you are only saved if you believe in Christ AND you have figured out every single question in the universe and got it right.

Some people believe abortion is O.K. and they believe in Christ and they will be saved. Some people believe that abortion is wrong and they believe in Christ and they will be saved. There are Biblical text which can be used to prove each point. However, the Bible doesn't say, Believe in Jesus Christ and get the abortion question right and then you will be saved. It just says, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

There are people who believe in Christ and have murdered someone...they will be saved. Christ died for all the sins of the world.

Everything we don't do right is a sin and it was paid for on the cross. We won't go to heaven or hell because our sins were not forgiven...we will go to heaven or hell based on what we think of Jesus Christ.

I don't know of anywhere is says: you must believe Jesus Christ was the Creator of the universe in order to be saved....you only must believe that HE IS GOD.

Well creation could have happened further back in history than We've been on Earth. What if it happened on another planet and when we came to Earth something happened and we forgot over time that we came here and evolved until we once again could read and write and then found the story of the bible/Koran/Cabala and assumed that it all happened on Earth. I know I probably didn't put this in a very clear manner, but I just woke up and everything's still a little fuzzy. I'll try to come back and edit after I wake up properly.

if you are a true believer then you don't believe in the lord jesus. you have to totaly have faith. thats why there is faith. god did create everything. the only reason that people came up with evoluton. is b/c they were not to sure about their faith. you have to believe that god sent a son that was born from a virgin mary. and did some really good things. and that he died on the cross for us and the 3rd day he rose again. and thats why there is faith. its a test to see how really spirtual you are. if you believe in evolution and that jesus died on the cross. then you are not a true believer. you should do some more searches and go to some chrisian websites and research more about what you are not sure. you can also go to a church and talk with a pastor or someone that you trust.
god died on the cross for everyone. god made adam out of dirt or something like that. b/c he was lonely. he made his creation b/c he loved us and wanted to spend eternity with us. he also created eve our of adams rib bone. every. he decides who goes to heaven and hell. and when the end of the world comes and you are not fully trusting god and all the faith, then you will not go to heaven

Well i believe it is not for anyone else but God to say if you are saved or not . I truly believe that Adam and Eve did exist why else would Jesus have had to die on the cross for all of our sins. The Bible says John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.--------If you don't believe the word of God (The Bible)???? Ok this is what i mean you say you believe in Jesus Christ and that he died for our sins. How is it that you can believe Jesus died for or sins but you can't believe About Adam and Eve...---- Well i think that if you are truly saved then you would believe the whole Bible. This is what the Bible says Gen 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
[20] And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
[21] And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
[23] And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Gen 3:20 20] And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

THE QUESTION (AM I SAVED)

I belive that if you were truly saved you would not have to ask anyone this question.

Because if you were saved you would know you are

I think maybe you need to look more into things before making up you mind about the Bible

The only way we know about Jesus Christ is through the Bible which is the word of God So if you are saved you would have to belive

PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT

Don't believe in evolution. If evolution is true, why do we need to procreate, why don't we just keep evolving into something else? Have we seen a lot of new creature popping out all over the world lately? Evolution, I don't think so. Mutation and abnormalities, maybe.

Don't get confused my friend, if you have a solid foundations on your beliefs, you'll be fine. The Old Testament tells you the fall of humankind while the New Testament tells you the redemption of humankind. I hope you catch my drift.

I believe quite firmly, while respecting your right to believe whatever you want however erroneous I think it is, that a belief in evolution and any faith are incompatible. Pursuing reason using the brain you have reduces God out of existence. As for being "saved", being saved is a minority sect position among world Christians. You would do better to ask whether or not you are still a good person and be content with that.

The bible says if you believe in Jesus and believe that He died for you and that He is God's son, then you are saved.
My question would be..how can you believe some parts of the bible and not others? Was the bible written so that we could pick and choose what parts we want to believe?\
If you believe in Jesus, then the Holy Spirit lives in you...He knows all things and therefpre you might try asking for a revelation on what is true...seek knowledge and you will find..SEEK means you work on finding. :-)
God bless you. We all have questions and things that don't make sense to our physical minds..I find that the more I seek, and read my bible and the better relationship with God I have, the more I understand. :-)

Here's what I think: you can't pick and choose parts of the Bible you want to believe and not believe others. The Bible tells us about creation, and it tells us about Jesus Christ. You can't believe one without the other. God, The father of Jesus Christ says that if you doubt his words, you will not be saved. You need to have faith in the entire world of God, and by denying creation, you are denying the word of God Himself.

Some church's where I live are starting to throw evolution into there mass, saying it was God's design for all things to evolve.
I personally think they are trying to cover up on of there religions greatest flaws. But look deep inside yourself if this is what you feel is right for you then who can say you are not saved? Cheer up dont let it bother you so much live life to your liking.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. My brother you are saved. You've got to remember that we serve a jealous God and He calls Himself, Creator. He gives His glory to no one.
