Spray paint won't crackle... only acrylic will work.

You can apply the crackle medium coat on top of the silver paint, then a coat of acrylic paint on top of that in a different colour... your new colour will crackle, and the silver will show through the cracks. If that's not what you want, you may have to do a different base coat colour. Still, your top coat must be acrylic. You'll need to use a varnish on top of this or it will peel off.

Be sure to follow the instructions precisely or it won't work. The thicker your crackle coat, the bigger the cracks will be.

Have fun -

If you want the silver to crackle you have to apply the crackle medium before you paint the silver. A craft supply store like Michaels or Joann's would have it.

there is a clear glaze that my sister uses that crackles over any paint you apply it to and like base coat, clear coat automobile paint, with the color behind, the silver looks crackled. Go to artists craft store and get some.
