Science is Science. You can quantify it. Religion is not. Religious believers are cult members who cannot hear any other argument. They are sick, delusional people. If a superman comic was written several thousands of years ago and people started worshipping it, you would have a whole modern generation of people believing (without proof) that superman was real!! It's a matter of faith... Hogwash!

ALL RELIGIONS are JUNK!

Strong statements are often made to contradict other strong statements. Somebody said that in reaction to somebody who said if you don't agree with evolution, you are against science. That was a mindless, manipulating statement, that provided absolutely no argument for evolution. "It's true because it's proven". That's just like what some complain about my fellow Christians who sometimes say something like: "The Bible is true because the Bible says it is true". That is a junky argument, and the person's argument against Christians was a "junk science" type of argument. And I think that is what the respondent was reacting to. Many serious scientists are absolutely convinced of evolution. Many serious scientists are absolutely convinced evolution is not the way this world came to be. A bit of mutual respect is needed. Especially on the part of people who don't understand either the scientific issues, or the theological issues, and I suspect that is the case of many of the respondents here, on both sides of the question.

To tell anyone that the faith of their spirit is wrong, or stupid, or even junk, is an attack in the spirit.
It is wrong to hurt anyone that deep.
"In Spirit you begin" All things begin first in Spirit then after death of the body they return to Spirit.
"In Spirit you give love" Love is the Spiritual connection to another being.
"In Spirit you give faith" Faith is the gift of the spirit.. The strongest of beliefs it is held and shared with Gods, Husbands/Wives, Children and dear close friends.
"In Spirit you give strength" The Strenth of the spirit is given through Love Faith and Hope. It is not a renewable resource.
When you bash someone for their faith in a religion, you are telling them they are liars. You tell them that they are false.
This damages their spirits deeply.
It is no different than telling someone who deeply loves you that they are false or liars.
The Spiritual damage that is done can be so extreme that it turns Love into Hate. Hate then changes faith into fear of connection. Thus weakening the spirit to the point of creating severe illness, mental illnesses like Depression, Melencholy and self distruction.
Or Hate creates Anger and that causes violence.
Evolution is correct in the physical world. Each being must evolve or parish. The body must be capable of living in the living world. This is an absolute.
Christianity is correct. The Spirit must have the healing power of faith connected to another spirit. Be that spirit god, wife, husband child, dog, cat or butterfly. The Spirit must connect.
All beings begin in the spirit and return to the spirit. The Body is but a temporary vessel..
Both beliefs are correct. They are not stupid or junk, or idiocy, or believing in fairies or falshoods.
And to call them such, is wrong!

Do you think evolution is science or philosophy? The last time I checked science was still using the Scientific Method to validate hypotheses and evolution can't be proved by that method. I also wonder which takes more faith: believing the universe and all of the physical laws we live under ordered themselves after some big explosion of matter that existed in the vaccum of space, or that God created and orderly universe from nothing at all

As a Jewish/Christian I think you are asking an excellent question.

Yes, it's rude, but the "Christian" was also rude. Don't lower yourself to their level.

Evolution and Christianity can co-exist. I personally feel as though evolution is a process that God put into existence.

Boy oh boy, am I ever going to hear it from Christians when they see this answer.

Yes, it's rude, because those lying idiots call themselves "Christian", when they know as little about the teachings of Christ as science. The can quote scripture and misquote everything else, deceive, lie outright, and spew hatred in defence of the first few chapters of the Bible. They talk the talk poorly and don't walk the walk.

A christian should not have belittled anyone elses theory of how the world came to be. It is fine for us to disagree with evolution but to use derogatory words against it is immature and not very Christian. If you in turn do the same thing you are lowering yourself to their level. Simply refuse to engage with people who cannot debate in a fair and rational way.

Yes. Just because they don't understand that evolution is based in science doesn't mean that you should bash one of their beliefs that you can neither prove nor disprove. And besides, evolution and christianity can exist together.

Good Question! My problem with this intelligent design stuff is the 7 day scenario! This sound more like the magical design! I believe in intelligent design! but I don't believe in the Christ-ian/anti-Christ version! It has no scientific weight and it has too many holes in it

No, its not rude. Its not what I would say though. I'd give them facts to prove them wrong.
