Father's parents are Paternal Grandparents. Mother's parents are Maternal Grandparents. I called mine Granny and Pa. :)

there are a lot of names. Mawmaw and pawpaw, Nana and Papa. The traditional Grandma and pa. Granny and pop. What ever you choose. It doesn't matter what side. You can also let the kids choose

I think that would depend on both family tradition and culture...Both my grandparents on my Mom and Dad's sides of the family were called Nanny and Papa.

It doesn't matter which side of the family they are on --- they can be called "grandma and grandpa" or "Memaw and Papaw" or whatever floats your boat.
Different cultures have different customs.

I just call my maternal grandmother "Granny". She is the only surviving grandparent I have left.
