Hey what a coincidence!
I was just walking my dogs and we came upon a person walking along, and my dogs went wild with crazy barking. It was like they had rabies!! Then after the person passed and my dogs calmed down I wondered if the person had the rabies and that's why my dogs acted like that.
Anyway, I'm not sure but if I were you I'd get checked for rabies.

I seriously doubt dogs on leashes have rabies. If an owner has enough sense to have their dogs on a lease then I am sure they have enough sense to have had their dogs vaccinated for rabies. Dogs on leashes often bark, simply because it is in their nature to do so and are on the hyper side.

Now a dog roaming around with no leash and acting strange and growling and snapping and walking in cirlces and foaming at the mouth is what you need to be concerned about. In that case call animal control immediately and get out of the way. Chances of you coming in contact with a a rabid dog is very slim. It can happen but is not very likely to.

There is a BIG difference!!! Just because a dog barks at you or even growls at you doesn't mean it has rabies. (nor does foaming at the mouth necassarily mean that either. There are many things taht can cause foaming).
here are the signs of rabies:

The disease is divided into three stages.

1) there is a change in temperament. The usually friendly dog becomes unpredictable; nervous or shy. Other signs may include dilated pupils, drooling, and snapping at objects that don't exist.

2)After several days, there is an exaggerated response to sights and sounds. Dogs may exhibit bizarre changes in behavior. The dog may wander aimlessly, engage in self-mutilation, and have a change in the way it barks. There usually be unpredictable, aggressive behavior, even towards the owner. Some dogs may have seizures.

3) the dog becomes depressed. It's mouth may hang open with the tongue protruding. Eventually, total body paralysis sets in and the animal will die.

Barking or aggression aren't really signs of Rabies. Rabies is a neurological disease which affects the brain which is why aggression is often a sign as the animals behavior becomes abnormal, wild animals will often act calm and friendly where as a calm pet may become aggressive and uncontrolled.
Staggering, confusion, convulsions and irrational or abnormal behavior can be signs

while you're genuinely useful that the cat has no longer been outdoors and has no longer been uncovered to animals that bypass out then it relatively is especially plenty impossible for him to have rabies. Cats chew for many motives, concern, annoyance, anger, showing dominence, and merely because of the fact. the only tests for rabies are to maintain the cat constrained for a era of 10 days to 2 weeks to make useful it does not replace into unwell with the indicators you learn or to have it killed and its ideas examined. the U. S. centers for affliction administration says that on an identical time as rabies might take months to seem in an animal the only time it relatively is contagious (and the only time the animal will act unwell) is after the affliction has moved into the animals ideas and saliva. Then in many circumstances interior 3-5 days it relatively is going to be very obvious that the animal is unwell with the indicators you learn. If the cat does start to tutor thise sympoms contained in here few days then you definately do ought to take it to a vet and it does must be examined even however which ability putting it to sleep it is unquestionably kinder than letting it gon with the aid of a terrible dying from rabies so as which you will detect out of you like the human prevenataive rabies remedies so as which you do no longer fall unwell and die. it would be terrific to your cat - the two cats - to bypass to the vet and get his photos and so which you would be able to evaluate having him neutered because of the fact it is going to help calm him, quit him from territory marking (peeing or spraying) on your place, make him much less probable to alter into aggressive with you and with your different cat and help him be much less probable to get the assumption of understanding sometime once you open the door and not coming back or getting very unwell if he did get out and get right into a combat or became uncovered to a distinctive animal who became unwell. i'm happy you rescued him and gave him a good homestead and which you comprehend and settle for his no longer being a cuddly kitty. he's blessed to have you ever.

If a dog has rabies they will foam at the mouth and almost guaranteed they will have broken off of those leashes and bitten you. Most dogs are rabies vaccinated and most owners are observant enough to recognize a case of rabies.

don't go confusing agression for a deadly disease. if the dog's had had rabies they would not only be extremely agressive and would have gotten away from the the person walking them and most importantly foaming at the mouth.

if the dog has rabies it will oviously foam to the mouth and try to bite you for no reason. but a regularly agressive dog will just bark and growl.

Happy New Year!

Probably not.
They were probably vaccinated... but you never know.
They might foam at the mouth, and want to bite you.
Also they are deathly afraid of water........

Do some more research...
