You don't need a special utensil, although one does exist for zesting. Just use your cheese grater and turn it to the side with the small openings/blades. Grate the orange, turning it freqeuntly. Try not to get any of the white portion, as this can be bitter. The idea is to get just the orange portion. Good luck.

you dont want any fancy kit, in case you have a grater, which will artwork, if not a small sharp knife will artwork besides.purely decrease into very skinny stripes. The zest is purely the right orange layer of the peel, do not use the pith, or white area, it has an exceptionally bitter style, and could harm in spite of you're cooking! of direction ascertain and wash the orange fairly fairly properly until now zesting.

if you don't already own a zester, which IS a special utensil, you can shave off the orange peel (avoid taking white with it) with a vegetable peeler then slice it fine-fine. The zester would give you very fine strips of peel only - thats what you're going for.
But if appearance is not a big deal to you, then grate it on the fine side of a standard grater. The taste will be the same.
