I am sixteen years old and i was adopted at the age of two. I was emotionally abused when i was younger. It seems as though I am a burden to the family and all i am is a disappointment to my parents. I would like some advice about changing families or going into an orphanage or ways of legally leaving my parents. I know for a fact that this would be better for both me and my parents, so if u can help i would gladly appreciatte it

it depends which country you are in. There are things like child line, and the local governments in most countries have attorneys that deal with family relationships
(look in the phone book under "social services". if you can't find it there, call 411 in the USA, 118118 in the UK).

The exact title of Who you call is completely different in New York City than in rural wales or Australia, but someone in social services should be able to point you in the right direction.

it sounds like you also need advice from a counselor. Going to a new family is more than a legal matter, it's a big adjustment.

don't worry about being a "burden and disappointment". It sounds like you're just a normal teenager. If you're not in prison and you didn't burn down the house, then you're OK.
