why are the stars on the flag always positioned ovber the left sholder of the dead solder on the coffin ?

I believe that the tradition is to place the star field, or union, over the heart of the deceased, and from the traditional approach to the coffin, the deceased's right side, this also placed the field in the upper left corner whic is the appropriate display for the flag.

In the U.S. we always position a body with the head to our left as we face it. So that being the top of the coffin, the flag is always displayed with the stars at the top.

It is laying the way it would be positioned on the flag pole. It is the correct way to position it to fold over the coffin of the Hero
