These are, quite possibly, my fondest ever wine-related memories.
The one, solitary glass of Dom Perignon Série 'Oenotheque' 1959 that I had the pleasure of caressing was exquisite. An outstanding wine with unquestionable pedigree and the fullest, most elegant flavour I could have imagined. However, my favourite Champagne would have to be the Jacquesson 'Vauzelle Terme' 1996. A rare and incredibly fine wine from a house much underrated on the common market. If you can find any of either that remains, snap it up immediately!

Veuve Cliquot (just the 'standard' stuff) is the best Champagne I've had. I've tried champagne from supermarket home brands up to Bollinger grand anee and it's my favourite. It is sweeter than many others and that is probably the reason I prefer it.

The best i ever drank was from France (I'd need to ask my brother what it was) but it wasn't alot better than the ELMO PIO asti wine
(which isn't as bitter as most champagnes and not near as expensive either)

2 suggestions for you- both are Moscato d' Asti
1. Bricco Riella
2. Luccio Moscato d' Asti
Not AS bubbly as champagne, but more of a sparkling wine- both are tasy, and reasonably priced.
