The earth formed there was obviously something that helped form it. I know you will say the big bang theory and stuff like that but what produced the 1st atom in the world to allow all of this to happen? I dont think god formed anything but I think he exist because there had to be someone to creat the 1st neccasary element in this world to form everything else. Explain how you could say he doesnt exist now.

So if everything needs to be created by something else, what then created god, and what created the thing that created god... and so on and so on. You bind yourself with circular reasoning here.

I don't say, "There is no God." I say that I do not believe that God exists. My thoughts on abiogenesis are that there is a scientific explanation for the origins of life, and certain members of the scientific community are working hard to find it. It has not yet been found, but there was a time when a lot of scientific knowledge had not yet found. In the meantime, I prefer not to believe that an omniscient and omnipresent deity created the universe. It is a primitive and useless explanation for our existence.

Some people theorize that life first came to earth as a bacterial colony,as there are bacteria which can survive the vacuum of space. As for the physical earth prior to life, space is full of dust and junk which collect and compact until they form planets, gain their own field of gravity and are caught in a sun's gravitational pull to form planets.

I think that the universe is too great for even a diety to create. I'm not an atheist, but I most certainly don't subscribe to Christianity's view of God. For all we know, the universe is God's body, and we are a colony of bacteria living in it, nothing more.

We (rational mankind) do not have answers for many things. But in no instance is there any good reason to make the irrational leap to god(s) or intelligent design as the missing explanation.

As science helps us to learn new things, religion keeps back-peddling. Study the history of your religion. It has probably provided incorrect explanations for all sorts of previously undiscovered facts. The earth used to be flat, the earth used to be the center of the universe, dinosaurs never existed, man never evolved, etc. etc.

Until there is a compelling argument or evidence to suggest that god(s) exist(s), then many (most?) atheists will maintain their position.

I hope this helps.

To say God exist is to also say God doesn't exist. No one in their right mind can prove the existence or non existence of God. You can believe in, with all your heart, that God exist that is called Faith and it is the base of all religion but the reality is that not one person can prove or disprove God's existence. Just because we are here is not good enough, yes existence is a miracle but it proves nothing that a God made us all nor does it prove a God didn't make us. It is a mystery and that is the beauty of it all.

We, as humans, have never seen anything created...We have only seen things rearranged or changed. To think that there had to be a beginning is illogical...To say the universe began is like saying this day began...Of course it did, but what happened before or how it fits in the greater span of things is unknown...

My honest answer is "I have no idea how the universe was created, because I'm too small to understand that. It's like 6 billion bacterias on a large beach in the pacific, sitting on a grain of sand, debating how the beach was created".

Someday you will understand that your answer, "God did it", is actually exactly the same answer as mine.

So where did this "god" come from? I've had a question brewing for a couple of days. I'll put it up now, and look forward to reading your answer.

The explanation would be matter and energy always existed, just like Deist will say their God has always existed.
