teens to and not just children or little tiny kids

Some parents are overprotective while others are too permissive -- it is a very difficult balancing act! As a single parent, I tried to gradually allow my son to have more and more responsibility as he showed that he was capable of handling it. There is no magical age where ALL kids are capable of dealing with being left alone.

The brain is still developing until age 12 - it is a biological fact that younger children do not process situations the same way. Smaller children do not have a sense of judgement and are more easily coerced into doing things.

Many teenagers are physically as big as adults, too. A teenager - 13 and up - has a better sense of how to handle being approached by a stranger. They have been taught and they have gained some life experiences.

Teenagers are usually left home alone when sick or during the hours after school; and are old enough to babysit for infants and younger children - so why NOT leave them to wait in the car as long as there are not extreme weather conditions?

Besides - who'd want a teenager with all the attitude they have?
Do you think I could sell mine on eBay? (kidding, of course)

enable me inform you a sprint secret. while my daughter became a sprint one, I left her interior the motor vehicle went i offered gasoline. at that factor there became no pay-at-the-pump, and extremely than unstrapping her and lugging the carseat interior, it became extra convenient to run in and pay. And it WASN'T a huge deal. i'd desire to actual see the motor vehicle. i'm not so paranoid as to have faith that kidnappers lurk in gasoline stations waiting to scouse borrow babies. Nor did I difficulty that some stranger could call the police and that i could be arrested for being 50 ft removed from my toddler for 2 minutes. If the mini-mart in question became, like maximum, designed with huge glass homestead windows, it is not a huge deal. He would desire to make certain her. EDIT: faith's memories are thoroughly different. quarter-hour isn't 2 minutes. Leaving the motor vehicle working isn't turning the motor vehicle off and taking the keys. a sprint basic experience and experience of proportion is going an prolonged way. EDIT" IR's 'the newborn would have died interior the nice and cozy automobile?' In 2 minutes? So ... once you purchase gasoline i assume which you're taking infant out of the motor vehicle and set the carseat interior the automobile parking zone so infant won't die interior the nice and cozy automobile? there is not something 'immature' approximately basic experience and not panicking over what 'would desire to ensue' interior the main severe and distant eventualities. EDIT: Shana -- whilst i'm not a kidnapper, and don't comprehend how they think of, if i became a kidnapper, i will think of of many extra smart places to seek for out victims than a hectic gasoline-station the place there are human beings coming and going each and all of the time, (people who could somewhat be conscious me breaking the motor vehicle window to get the newborn out), the place the youngster's make certain is perhaps watching the motor vehicle and could re-seem at any 2d, and the place there are possibly video-cameras tracking the lot.

A car is less likely to be stolen if there is a teenager in it. Most teenagers have cell phones and can call for help anyways. WHen a teenage is 16 they are old enough to drive anyways and will be in a car by themselves lol.

I don't understand. If they want to stay in the car, what are the odds someone would still you're car? There's even less a chance if your teen is in the car anyway. You need to stop worrying about others so much.

i have one old enough to drive, if he's old enough to be semi independent then he can be alone in a car if he wishes. i trust him to do the right thing. my younger teen still has to tag along if he doesn't want to stay home. Plus the older one has my cell and can call for help just in case.
don't forget the legal age when a child can be left alone is 12.

I wouldn't leave anyone under 11 alone in a car. That's my age limit for that responsibility.

Grown men and women get abducted and sexually abused. Does that mean you shouldn't allow your husband or wife to stay alone in the car, or anywhere else for that matter?

most teenagers have the presence of mind to scream and are more capable of fending themselves instead of an infant in a car seat

You seriously need to learn better english.
And if you're trying to say that teens steal cars...I doubt most teens would steal their parents car, if they did their parents should've known better.
