It will wake you up but the best cure for a hangover is waiting it out. Sorry.

No. A hangover is a withdrawl from alcohol consumption. Drinking coffee will not help. In fact the fastest way to get over a hangover is to either a.) let time take its course and let the toxins from the alcohol leave your body or drink a beer. Cheers!

Coffee only wakes you up. It doesn't put back the nutrients that alcohol depletes from your body through a night of drinking. The best way to combat a hangover is to fight it before you get one.
Before you start drinking, take 1000 mg of vitamin C, or drink drinks with OJ or other ascorbic citrus juices in them (pineapple, pomegranate, lime, etc). Drink a tall glass of OJ or pop some C before you hit the sack, and then if you're still a little hung-over waking up, start your morning with a high protein breakfast (like egg whites) and some OJ or more C, maybe pop some multi-vit and mineral tablets too.

Get lots of rest. I once managed to induce coffee heart after my fifth cup (of cheap coffee, the type which has more caffeine than good coffee). That was when I was in school, in Secondary 4, the equivalent of grade 12 I think. I made the switch to tea after that.
