Intellectual think too much about consequences so they don`t want their children to risk.Normal people would just let the kid learn a lesson from his dids.I`m more on the second type of educating my children...

Often, parents with high-level degrees excelled in school. In school we are taught, "Do everything right the first time. We will punish you for any mistakes, and you might never live down your shame." Naturally, we all learn by making mistakes, but people who are highly conditioned to things right the first time might see their children making mistakes as a reflection on them.

Plus, a lot of highly educated people are of the self-employed mindset, "You just can't find good help." Or "If you want it done right, do it yourself." We all know people like that, your salesperson types, your doctors, your lawyers, your electricians. They are good at what they do (in their minds, possibly the best), and they're anal on anybody who's learning. Naturally, a young person would begin having very little proficiency in any given endeavor, but the self-employed person says, "Eh, forget it. I'll do it." The greatest fear of a self-employed type is that someone else will screw up, and it'll make them look bad.

Then, of course, a lot of times kids don't really think through what they're doing. There's scientific evidence that teenagers don't think through what kinds of emotional impact their actions might have on others... and it's similar with younger children, just in a less-advanced way. Highly educated people have often made a career out of anticipating the potential impact of what they say and do... so imagine their horror at the couthless, undisciplined, completely impolite natures of the young.

If you hate reading a lot, you could've skipped the above rantings. One word: Insecurity.
