It may be happening, but it is not a scientifically accepted fact, as yet.

The variations observed do not convince all the scientists that they are abnormal, compared with the recorded temperature variations, periodically experienced by our planet in the past.

It is quite possible that the periodical variations in solar activity are the most important factor causing temperature shifts.

Which does not mean that we shouldn't be vigilant about the pollution and gas emissions we produce.

I definately believe it's a problem. I live in Northern Mi and we have yet to recieve any snow. Dude. It's Jan 1st. The ground is brown...as in dead grass. I remember moving here from southern Ca and having to leave the water running all nite so the pipes wouldn't freeze. That was 10 years ago. My horses we stuck in the barn because the snow drifts were 5' tall. Today, there is no ice on the pond, no snow on the ground and it's 40 degerees outside...Why? the facts are clear. It is possible that this is a "routine" heating up period of the earth, however, there is more Co2 in the than ever before. The science has proven it. Kinda like cigettes smoking was known to cause hazardous effects but went brutally ignored for years until peolple started dying. Well... here we are... and it's a matter of time

It is a scientifically proven fact that average temperatures are 3 degrees (celsius) higher the year 2006 than 100 years ago. It is a scientifically proven fact that temperatures has been growing decade after decade along the last 50 years almost worldwide. It is a scientifically proven fact that the green surface on the earth is decreasing (we only have measurement over the last 20 years)

It is a scientifically proven fact that GHG retain heat and make that heat (at least in part) will remain in the atmosphere and doesn´t go to outer space.

It is a scientifically proven fact that level of GHG (greenhouse gases) is the highest in the last 650,000 years.

What some american people and people related to oil industry tell is one of those concepts:

1) There is no relation among all those facts
2) Human activities didn ´t cause it. It is a natural heating-cooling cycle in the nature. God or nature will solve this problem and will save humankind.
3) It will happen and will be extremely bad, but hundreds years later

Yes we are. I know for a fact that we are experiencing global warming. Im a marine bio major, and spend so much of my time learning about it, viewing it and studying it. Its happening.
There is so much green house gases in the atm right now thats its warming our globe. Icecaps are melting, glaciers are breaking off, and just recently the US congress is taking steps to protect polar bears because their habitat is suffering from the global warming effects.
The water level is rising very quickly, so much that the animals can not catch up to it. Biggest example is coral reefs. There is so much coral bleaching due to rise in sea level and temp. Corals are not able to stand water outside 24-25 degrees C. They are however able to adapt to a SLOW change in water temp (the midway atolls have been around for millions of years when we know that there has been alot of change in sea temp).
I know in the new york region, you have species that are migrating northern because the new york waters are too warm for them to survive (the 1999 lobster die off in Long Island Sound). These species are being replaced by warmer region animals migrating up from the south.
This is something that is of great urgancy. People need to stop arguing that its not happening and believe the scientists. We are all saying it is happeneing, and we need to start now. Ironically people may say that the ozone layer is being fixed, where as global warming is not happening. This is false, the hole in the ozone was caused mainly by CFC's and other toxins in the atm eatin away at the ozone. Global warming is much different. Its happening, and the second people stop debating it and start owning up to the fact that its there, the quicker things can happen.

NO it is a lie. First they said that CO2 was the cause but it is not. Mother nature introduced the plants a few million years ago . Sense the plants have enjoyed our CO2 and made much food. The plants absorber CO2 and keep the C and give us back the O2 . There has not been a problem just lots of claims and no evidence. If there is no CO2 problem there is not global warming.
