The package was sealed and in the fridge. It seemed to darken, but had no obious bad smell when I opened it. It was very bloody though, on the wrapping and the inside. Is this normal (I don't eat beef, making a dish for a friend). Is it safe to eat?

Thank you

yes, just make sure you cook it thorough, just to be on safe side!

Yes, it should be okay. But open it up and smell it first, then check the color. If it is not really pink it is starting to go bad if it looks more brown. Also if it smells a little strong it is also starting to go bad. From my experience as a cook beef is always safer to eat after expiration date. Now if it was chicken I wouldn't trust it.

It's ok to eat. The brown coloring is due to lack of air in the package...a GOOD THING !

Just be sure to cook it today and either freeze, or eat.

I am personally very picky about past expiration issues. I'd say drop that nasty meat in the trash and go splurge five bucks on something fresh. You friend's stomach will thank you.

No, yet i did try to lots of cases to consume soup with a spoon, extremely if a soup is thick (you may thicken the soup effectively via including some flour). It takes extra time, so I rejoice with it longer

Yes
The expiration date is just to sell it by then.
If you don't use it today then freeze it until you get ready to fix.
It will be fine.
If it is a little brown just trim that off and it will be fine.

I would say "yes" it's ok. Cook it right now and cook it well. Red meat (hamburger) should always be well cooked. Forget steak tartar - too much risk of bacteria.

Since it was very bloody, I wouldn't take a chance on eating it.
