What would you say to this person and do to help yourself get over such a crushing (yet honest) rejection!?!

That's a new one I've never heard. Original to say the least, but at least it's honest. I have to give them credit for being honest with you, even though it has hurt you. Obviously, they tried it with you and it isn't going to work. I will bet that this person will be lonely for a long time till they find "Mrs. Right" or "Mr. Right". It makes me wonder what ideals this person has set for the perfect mate and they must also consider themselves the "catch of the century". Sounds like they are a bit conceited to me. Find someone who wants you for what you are and not a fashion plate or wants to put you on display. If you have to act a certain way and not be yourself, it isn't worth it and although the other person will be happy, you will be miserable always. You are number one. Please yourself first. (I wouldn't want someone who was "plastic" anyway.)
