I agree with what most people on here have said - it's not that your standards are lower, but you find other things more important than how much someone weighs, or how much money they have, etc. As we get older, we make different choices on what is important to us. When we're young, we're stupid and don't realize that to make a relationship, it has nothing to do with having a trophy wife or husband - but it has everything to do with communication and how well you get along. That's what matters the most in the long run.. :)

You think that means your standards are lower, Right! As you get older and date you standards actually go up. You start to look for other things rather than just the meat on her bones.

As you get older your stander are lower because when a person is 50 and alone they would rather be with an ugly person than live life alone

Not so much your age as it is the group of possible mates to choose from.
Other thing is, you get to 30 and discover that 21-year old women are idiots. So even though they have better bodies, you might not decided to deal with them.

I'm 44 and I have not and will not lower my standards I date women from there mid-twentys to forty and I don't date ugly women. My first wife was ugly.....never marry an ugly woman it'll just suck the life right out of you!!

I think your standards get higher, but what you think is important changes. For instance you learn that looks do matter, but who they are as a person is more important.

i don't think your standards drop. i think we see people differently, with depth and who we want and desire changes. we change and hopefully gain wisdom, so our tastes change too.
