Can lower backpains and an upset stomach be due to stress and/or tension?

Yes, it's possible. I'd say it's more likely that stress would cause upset stomach than back pain though. Have you been to a doctor? It sounds more like a kidney infection to me.

Stress can trigger many ailments. If your back and stomach pains persist, then you need to see a physician.
