well your first problem is that you think that because you are tall and light, that you cant be garbage. I am not saying that you are, but whats with the racism? You obviously think yourself superior to latinos of dark skin and that are short or have physical jobs. Get over yourself! Also, not all Americans judge people like that, but those that do are wrong, they have probably never studied Spain, or traveled there.

Spain is a WHITE european country. Just like any other country, it has darker elements from mixing with conquering tribes and nations of the past. But for the most part, spainards are white.

the term latin is a misnomer. The real latins were the tribe, the latins. Everything latin originated in europe from white folks. The languages, religions, etc. "latin america" consists of indigenious mongoloid natives who just had european religion and language taught to them.

Some Americans are just not exposed to many Latin or Spanish people. Therefore, with the unfamiliar its more safe for them to assume that they are better then them. ( Not saying all Americans feel this way, or that is right to think that way). Its just something I have come to notice.

I was raised in Spain, and upon returning to the US for college, I couldn't believe how much ignorance and discrimination still existed in the land of the free.

Try not to take offense, many people have never been exposed, and the education they receive is minimal as far as cultural studies of other countries. Many kids in school are taught minimal global geography and taught the U.S. is far more Superior nation. Despite most European schools graduate children who speak 3 to 6 languages upon completing the High School education, where as U.S. primarily offers three foreign languages and most have taken a semester or two.

I wouldn't necessarily blame the people straight off, but more of the education system. Not saying there are no raciest people from America, yes there still are, but I'd say the majority of is caused by minimal and improper exposure.

Sorry they made you feel that way!

Americans have been very giving to all countries,so much so that our own economics is a wreck and our own go without, Most Americans that I know still welcom legal immigrants ,I dont have time to provide all links, but here is an example of what we pay out http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1609318/posts I think what has made Americans upset is that we feel illegals are now trying to bite the hand that feeds them ,you might say example http://www.rense.com/general54/colony.htm http://redtape.msnbc.com/2006/03/hidden_cost_of_.html Do you understand why Americans feel the way they do now?

I don't think that, and had no idea that that was a belief among some americans. I guess there are ignorant racist people everywhere, including america. I'm pretty sure that the vast majority of americans do not share those beliefs about spanish and latin peoples.

The key words in your question is, "some Americans."

Do not allow yourself to be brought down to their level.

Presently, it is the Mexican illegal immigrants who are effectively invading our nation without any regard for our language or customs that is fueling this animosity you experience from the people who are ignorant enough to try and paint all Latin people with the same brush.

Be assured, it is not the belief of the Americans with any common sense and decent education that you seem to be encountering.

Why do you print in all caps?

It makes you seem to be shouting, or illiterate.

No one with sense thinks Spain is a poor country.

Besides, why would anyone be 'garbage' for being Latin, and what does having fair hair have to do with anything?

As long as there are people they will suffer from xenophobia (fear or hate for another person' s race or religion). On the other hand American's are often regarded as arrogant and egotistical, some are but at the same time, other's are not.
