Do you means Judaism the religion, "Jews" the race, or "Israel" the country? Judaism is the foundation of Christianity, and its subtle influence is felt daily. The Jews have, historically, been well into the financial realm and, even today, are some of the most powerful bankers and other financial players in the world. The country of Israel, as an ally of the US, has great influence on what goes on in the world as well as the middle east.

The impact of the Jew and the Jewish state is an overall positive addition on civilization of man both past and present. Jewish contributions to humanity are numbered by the thousands. They are a proud and decent community of people. Their influence on the world is by positive example and leadership; the path that the Jews have taken has been very carefully and wisely chosen.

While I do not agree at all with their God-based beliefs, I find the Jews to be likable, moral and trustworthy neighbors both here in the United States and across the oceans in Israel. I suspect they are a strong addition of peace and stability to whatever community they choose to join.

As much as anyone else.

There is NO such thing as a Jewish conspiracy. That is a load of anti-semitic nonsense. People often try to find someone to blame, a scapegoat for their problems. Unfortunately, people have often picked on the Jews. In reality, Jews have been trying to live their lives in peace, like everyone else.

BTW, whynotaskdon should read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Age_of_Islam before suggesting Muslims have not contributed anything.

Historically Jews have been hugely influential, as academics, doctors and from an economic perspective most importantly as bankers. Currently Jews are active in every field of life and their cultural values of family, hard work and education have proven to be a very valuable asset to the communities in which they settle.

And of course they run the only democracy in the middle east, which is also engaged in brutal suppression of its muslim minority. It's a funny old world and I hope it gets better in 2007!

Best wishes
